It's going to be immediately after Homeworld 2, The age of S'jet, no more the massive mothership we loved, instead. After opening every galaxy gate, Hiigarans must now explore the rest of the entire Galaxy to identify future assets, and possibly future threats to the Hiigarans. You get a choice on which clan will be sent to explore a certain area of space for the rest of the campaign while other clans will explore the other arms of the galaxy. Every clan will have a unique mothership. The Clans of Hiigara: Nabaal: the manufacturing clan, faster unit construction, balanced units/cost. Basically the base race of Hiigara Soban: Militaristic clan of Hiigara: superior weaponry. Larger armies. Costlier than the rest (they are a clan of mercenaries after all). Best Marine Transports (board the ships!). Railgun specialists S'jet: Karen S'jet/Mothership's own clan. wil not participate alone as usual. Will be part of every ships crew, every research vessel/probe, experimental vessel in any fleet will use S'jet's ensignia instead of their clan's own. Somtaaw: (personal favorite since Homeworld: Cataclysm/Emergence) former mining clan turned warrior after the events of Cataclysm/Emergence. Best resourcing, swarm drone carriers instead of carriers with manned fighters, ion cannons (slow firing, slow charging, slow projectile, huge aoe and damage), Emp, no marine/boarding frigates, instead uses the old salvagers back in HW1. Suicide ships, stealth tech. Manaan: the gipsies of Hiigara, best fighters, bigger fighter bomber fleet, better carriers. Better carrier based craft. Soban has a literal larger fleet, by preferring destroyers/cruisers etc. Manaan is different by having it's carriers bigger and having more fighters than any other clan. And better carrier craft, more bombs per bomber, fighters fly faster, etc, missile specialists. Paktu: Will not participate as a separate clan like the S'jet, the colony builders, instead, every stationary object (space stations/defense camps) you build will have Paktu's insignia on them alongside your own clan. These are based on how every clan in Homeworld lived during their time on Kharak. And how they responded to Gaalsien. Soban rampaged, Nabaal teched up and brought tanks and guns in the age where they're still fighting with swords, S'jet is a clan of scribes, astronomers, and scientists provided research to the coaltion, Paktu migrated to another area, Manaan rampaged like the Soban but didn't engaged in direct combat, instead focused on guerila tactics, Somtaaw on the other hand were formerly monks, turned miners for the coalition. And everyone shouted in unison: Fuck Gaalsien.

Homeworld Mobile is announced with all Kiiths being separate factions after Homeworld 2 and will be a spinoff game alongside Homeworld 3 which is in development. Didn't thought they do that hoping they keep the unique ships Somtaaw have. And it will still have the same open world turned into MMO RTS that allows you to attack from any direction and controlling your fleet one by one. And make enemies of your fellow Kiith for the luls. Why? Hiigara is on a conquest and every Kiith wants a piece of the galaxy sized pie.

Once again: exellent! You are describing units and abilities precisely and arrange the videos in a way so that you can go through all the topics and show the correlating scenes. One thing you could do, though, as Affeks mentioned, is turning down game volume just a tiny bit so nothing of what you say is cut off by the noise of battle.

Seems pretty easy, but if you use this Soban build in a 1-1 skirmish against the Khaaneph on Hard, on say, the Kalash Teeth map, you will up to your teeth in Khaaneph skimmers before you can crank out your first AAV. Shortly after that the Khaaneph will bomb you back to the stone age and over-run you with railguns. Soban just does not have the power to defend itself in the early stages of the game.
@doyledonehoo97356 жыл бұрын
OBTW, Annihilation mode.
@Dreamlands156 жыл бұрын
I have a skirmish guide with Soban, with me vs 3 Hard AI. You can have enough AAV out by the time they hit you to hold their first attack. Then its just a matter of keeping momentum. Kalash Teeth is a more challenging map, due to its very short rush distance, but you can definitely do it without too much difficulty. This video is an overview. So its a faction introduction rather than a specific strategy or build guide.
@doyledonehoo97356 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. Great videos: I have watched many of them. Anyway, in the scenario I spoke of above, I have no trouble when using Coalition. Just the Soban. I thought the AI was dull, but it has surprised me. For example, early on it parked a production cruiser (with an escort) on my side of the map in the lower right corner resource wreck, which I didn't notice (I recycled the base runner so I could make AAVs early) until I started being attacked. I will be looking for that one. And I will be looking at the suggested video. Thanks.
@Dreamlands156 жыл бұрын
Thank you :D The AI does some "interesting" things sometimes lol. The trick is to just hold their aggro, and out pace them in the long run. Although with some powerful rush builds you can even crush them early if thats your thing.
@doyledonehoo97356 жыл бұрын
I watched your video (good!) and wrote detailed instructions with time-stamps, and hey, I managed to win! Barely. ;) Same scenario as above, and the Khaaneph skimmers still managed to arrive before the AAVs could finish being made. It is a small map. But the skimmers didn't do much damage, killed an ALM as the AAVs started arriving. After that it was just a build-up and some reverse slope defense. It was a race to get built up before the limited resources dried up. I should send you the replay so you can make a video pointing out everything I did wrong. :)

A way to make Soban playable in SP...? Don't really care about the lore or anything, I just loved the Soban Carrier design, as well as the fact the nearly all Soban large ships are equipped with railguns...

How do Soban Battlecruisers stack up to Coalition BCs and honor guard cruisers?
@Dreamlands152 жыл бұрын
Better at range vs cruisers and carriers. HGC better at range vs blobs. Nothing beats Coal BC up close tho
@RDJ99422 жыл бұрын
@@Dreamlands15 So its got a mix of the HGC's range and Coal BC's tankiness and raw DPS then, sacrificing the splash... Huh. Def a weird unit.

@Quadrolithium3 жыл бұрын
They are part of the coalition hence same appearance. The northern coalition consists of the following clans: Sjet, Soban, LiirHra, Somtaaw, Nabaal. All of them hate the Gaalsien. Soban's color is red because of their founder: Soban the Red. After being betrayed by his clan tore off their colors and created his own, red for blood, thus is a quest of vengeance. Soban became a mercenary clan, bound by loyalty not by bloodline you can join it even if you are not born a Sobani. But make no mistake, you cannot hire them against the coalition or hiigara. Soban owned no lands instead roving from one battlefield to the next. And staying in a clans territory as long as they are paid. The only other clan we play separate from the Coalition is Somtaaw in Homeworld Emergence/Cataclysm. Former monks who became miners and is one of Soban's oldest clients. Which likely why you're not seeing a separate faction in Desserts of Kharak as they still serve as Miners here for the Coalition, same with Nabaal who is the shipmakers of the Hiigaran up until Homeworld 3. From land carriers to space carriers or even the Mothership, they made it all. Sjet is the scientists and astronomers of the coalition every technology minus guns and armor, is likely developed by then.

The soban seam to be better then both the galsians and the coalition. I'm new to the game so it's likely that I'm not seeing something but the soban just seem to have all the tools they need to compleatly counter both factions. Obviously the most important factor is skill and a skilled player can outplay a newbi with any faction but if 2 players of equal skill fought the soban would have an advantage. The stun turrets seem way too versatile. Is there something that the coalition does better then the soban and what would be the soban weakness that the oponent could use? The one thing I can see is that the soban are higly encouraged to bring the carrier to the front line so you could sneak past them and strike at their economy but then again you wold likely need to use light units to get to them without being detected and those units would get countered easely by the stun turrets and an air strike or two
