Design Director Gilles Vidal Presents the Renault 5 Prototype

French carmaker Renault is resurrecting the iconic R5 nameplate in a new contemporary, electric vehicle design scheduled to reach series production. It is the first step in Renault’s mission to reconnect with its heritage.
The Renault 5 Prototype design features numerous references to the original R5 in the headlamps, taillamps and hood vent. Its design was led by new Renault Design Director Gilles Vidal.

Not even Retro futuristic neither Modern. Looks like a design student's first sketch with modern lights has been presented. Is this the right way company like Renault wants to go? Same goes for Dascia Renault SUV concept. What kind of meth these guys were smoking to bring that kind of design. Obsurd side view with modern lights.
