Your comments are spot on - another insightful post from you! One small suggestion: please use more "typical" home examples. The spaces you've worked on are incredible but very out of touch with the average viewer. It would be much more helpful to see a high-end example and another more simple based on what the average home looks like.

I was going to suggest the exact same thing. Those homes are GORGEOUS,, but most of us viewers don't have that grand of a home, so an upgrade on a "normal"..(I hope I'm using the right word) or like she said the "typical" home would be wonderful.

@@elizabethbushnell8684 i hope one year later my comment will still be useful. Our bedroom walls are darkish grey and there are lots of cream and white accents and some dark wood. I sew a set of bed linen in dark chocolate flax linen and it's just gorgeous. I think it will go perfectly with your palette too. No more stress after a surprise period or spilled tea, just wash it thoroughly and the stains won't show as on the light fabrics. I hate the smell of bleach, so this is my solution.

So I pulled the blinds up, pulled the shears and Wallah, it looks great! So much for trying to update to a more contemporary look. Never again! I actually regret doing it now and it wasn't cheap! Ive been doing things like this all pandemic. I got rid of all the tones in my room and have been decorating with all white with pops of terra cotta, which I’ve been diying with. I repainted my mirror white and then added a terracotta border. I had a black stool and painted it terra cotta and using it as a plant stand next to my mirror. On the opposite side, i found this cute chic African basket with lots of colors, but also having my terra cotta in it to relate. I then added a palm to the inside of the basket, using the basket to add texture. Had an old white ikea vase, taped it up and repainted it. The lip of the vase chipped but with the touches i added to the vase, it looks expensive as if i bought it like that. Anyways, thats just a few. I’ve also been going plant crazy and adding plants everywhere. Fresh lively plants always make a space look more lux.

Just found your channel and I'm so glad I did! ☺️ I love how you've formatted the videos in digestible chunks. We just finished sheetrocking our living room and we are ready to put primer on the walls. I've been wanting to do something on the ceiling, like bamboo wood, but I thought it might be too much because we have regular 8' ceilings, and on top of that, I love herringbone patterns! 😍 I'm not sure if it'll be too busy, but I love seamless solid floors with no grout or grooves for easy cleaning, so maybe that would offset the busy ceiling? 🤷🏽♀️ Or, maybe I can reverse it, and put a wood ceiling with no pattern, but the have a herringbone pattern on the floor? I'm having a bit of a challenge making everything cohesive, but after watching your video, I'm sure I want to dress up our ceiling now, since it creates a sense of luxury! So, my three things are ceiling, something on the walls, and definitely getting rid of all plastic on my windows. 😅 Thank you so very much for the advice!💜

I moved into my dream home almost three years ago. The master bedroom is just an eye sore. It is not a big room and the bed is limited to where it can be placed due to a closet entrance. It has a nice tray ceiling but it needs something extra. I am adding molding to give it a bit more luxury and or painting the ceiling a different color. I just don't know!

Thank for your good advice. Live houseplants do wonders for my home. When I remove them for special fertilizing or watering, the room looks oddly bare. I especially like big plants or a display of several small plants and textures featured on a tray. Also, live plants help to clean the interior air. The only problem is that many plants need to be by a window, and they reject where I want to place them because of lack of light. So, I figure them out. Nothing looks prettier than a beautiful, live plant.
@JulieKhuu3 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Just made a brand new video about styling the home with indoor plants Linda! Check it out if you haven’t already 🙌🏻🌿

I know this is an old post, but my suggestion is to use single 'grow' bulbs - helps the plant and highlights it at the same time. I put them in those hinged lamps so I can move it closer or further way from the plant.
