First off - thank you for the amazing work you’re doing!!! I must have watched at least 20 Shapr3D tutorials before I realized that I still have no idea how to design in the application and most importantly no clue how to transfer the design to the actual cut on my router. This is my first video I watched by you and I was just able to design my first piece and successfully transfer to Fusion 360! Working on tool paths now (that will probably take another few days :)…but I’m almost there! From just 1 tutorial! You sir are an absolute wizard and an amazing teacher and I really hope Shapr3D is paying attention! They need to sponsor your work at the very least!! IF I didn’t watch your video I was ready to cancel my paid shapr3d subscription…so they just retained a paying customer because of your awesome tutorials!! Thank you!

Isn't this way of drawing and outline of something really tedious and time consuming. This is a great example of my comments on the Shapr3d forum and wish list that I need a Freehand drawing tool. We have the text tool & it is really cool I love it. And using the text tool makes designing not only fun but saves a ton of design time. In this drawing method one is not really designing but trying to create a simple outline.

First off, outstanding video! I recently, yesterday, upgraded my iPad to the new iPad Air (M1). I currently use Fusion 360, but after watching your video, I like the idea of designing on the iPad and then exporting to F360 for the CAM. I've mainly used F360 for modeling things to 3D print, but I've recently started using it more for designing things to cut out on my CNC (PrintNC). I'm glad that I stumbled onto your channel as I haven't been able to find many channels that talk about CAD and woodworking. Thank you and I look forward to watching more of your content! - Ed

Thanks for another great video! Quick Fusion tip that might save you and others time. You can display the estimated machining time as a part of the operation name. On Mac, it's under preferences > general > manufacture > Browser Display Properties > "Show operation machining time". This way you can see how long the individual operations will take within a setup. It will also show the total machining time for a setup in the setup name. You can also display the tool number, which helps with quicker debugging.

What about creating an assembly like kitchen cabinets, how can the cut sheet be transformed to say 4x8 sheets and then export to CAM?

And I’m pretty sure you were joking…but if not..yes..there are two Shapr3D courses on udemy right now.

Great videos. I have made other projects using your methods and all worked terrific. I am having an issue with the reindeer tray though. I downloaded the model from your site and followed your instructions to the letter(I think). However when I try to carve it using my X-Carve it just carves in mid air. I checked my stock size and it is correct. Any ideas?. Thanks for the great videos. They have helped me a lot. I am 80 years old and do this for entertainment.

Hey Robert, that sounds like the origin wasn’t defined correctly for the stock. Was the origin defined at the top lower left corner of the stock? Does it match how it’s defined in the machine as well when you zeroed the machine?

It's a good video; I enjoyed watching it all through. I understand that for design work, Shaper3d is more intuitive and faster, but for toolpath, the same goes for V-carve, yet you chose Fusion360. I/We would like to know why you selected each tool.

A query … how refined do the drawings need to be done in Shapr3D for them then to be transferred to Fusion360, or does the drill bit on the CNC machine just approximate the accuracy, no matter how refined the Shapr3D design is made - as I’m after doing fine curves, so does the minimum size need to be 1mm
@BevelishCreations Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean. Shapr3D is as accurate and precise as any other CAD programs out there. It’s accurate to 10 decimal digits. Shapr3D is a solid modeler so the curves are actual curves, not made from a bunch of straight lines like Sketchup is

Really love the videos, the style and content are top notch. One questions I have on something like this, when doing the bit changes how do you set the new Z height? In the case of this specific file you had untouched stock that you could use for the height but lets say you couldn't then what?
@BevelishCreations Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I always leave the corner untouched. But if you don’t have it, then you should have a piece of offcut from the original stick. Use that as reference
@sparks-tech Жыл бұрын
@@BevelishCreations thank for the advice. I ended up creating two separate setups one to hold the surface operation to bring the stock down from 23mm rough face to 18mm thick and then another setup to cut the parts. Would there be a way todo something like that but in the same setup?

How would you like it if he took your work and put it up for sale, I see you are selling the step file you made from his work.
@BevelishCreations Жыл бұрын
I bought the file from him. On top of that, this is quite different from me taking his file, and just reselling it on my site. This is a redesign of what he had. Also, his file isn't a .step file. it can't be used to create trays like this. If this was the case, then nobody should be able to post videos of building different cabinets, because they're all just the same boxes
