rethink about the minimum and maximum Ast, what you have written is meant for beam and not for slab...check clause 26.5.2

Bro,the minimum steel in slab for Tor steel is 0.12% of Ag and for for mild steel is 0.15% of Ag. The formula which you have stated in the video is for beams.

you have done a blunder, for one way slab IS code has given bending moment coefficients. You cannot simply use wl^2/8 ,

Yes for tension steel check need to be done to ensure Minimum steel provided against cracking and maximum steel to prevent from being over reinforced

Bhai ye Ast ke formula ka reference kaha hoga IS code mein. Ek pt ka bhi formula hota hai. Uska reference bhi kha milega IS code mein. Ast konse design ke liye use hoga and pt (percentage of steel) formula konse design ke liye use hoga. Kindly clarify this doubt.

It's for safe design. If you take the minimum depth as your effective depth you slab will fail in deflection.

I think we should use 78 and not 125 to get Ast.cuz that's what u did in two way slab.

In deflection check of both one-way and two-way slab, why percentage of steel is taken only for main reinforcement by ignoring addition of steel percentage of distribution? Reference [IS:456 2000, or any valid book following the IS Codes]

minimum reinforcement in case of slabs is taken as 0.12 percent of total cross sectional area when HYSD bars are used. The formula that you have used to calculate minimum area is used in case of beaams.

its not directly in the code. but if you see pg no 69 fig 22 of the code. there you have to calculate the moment along compression side for that the force given is 0.36.fck.xu.b and the lever arm is (d-0.42xu) therefore Mu=forceXlever arm

Depends upon your area of steel. For eg for a beam you need minimum two bars so choose a dia so that two bars will give u the ASt Generally u will se 12mm to 20mm bars in beams For slabs higher the dia higher the spacing and lower the dia lower the spacing. Generally u will only se 8mm and 10mm dia in slabs.

This problem is based on design of simply supported one way slab. The coeffecients given in table 12 are for calculating (+) (-) moments in continuous slabs. Mu = 0.36 x (Fck) x (xumax) x b (d - 0.42xumax) In this equation put Mu , the moment you calculated and d will be unknown.

He multipied it later while calculating momemt. You also calculate factored load before by multiplying the service load by 1.5
