Design surface patches using new Baffle Planner module

This video shows an example of how to use the new Baffle Planner module (provided by SlicerHeart extension) to design surface patches. The module was originally designed for surgical repair of heart walls, but it can be used universally anywhere where a smooth 3D surface needs to be generated that conforms to the patient anatomy.

This is quite nice, but it's easy for convexity flaps. Now try a pterional region or bigger flaps after decompressive hemicraniectomy.

The patch shape can be warped with additional surface points to create much more complex shapes. However, you may find that for very large or non-trivial shapes some of the other 3D Slicer tools work better. For example, it may make sense to register and fuse a mirrored or pre-operative image of the same patient or warp a image of a similar patient.
