@Capitalist Pig but he did have the legal authority to federalize the guard and, the governor was stopping multiple unalienable rights like protest and gathering. This governor was being a dick.
@dustindubbo28922 жыл бұрын
@Capitalist Pig Yeah but at this point the governor was basically seceding, and was undermining extremely the constitution which is a precedent that has not happened since the civil war. The president didn’t insert himself as the direct leader of Michigan and let the Lt governor take over.

You can tell its dated by the fact that "obstructing a federal investigation" is still treated as a punishable offense. Nowadays thats tuesday

Context is important here, when the Federal Government is in a situation like this the President and what's left the Federal Authorities don't have the luxury of being passive and polite

So TREASON is nothing compared to "obstructing a federal investigation"?
@Pat4ever.5 ай бұрын
It wasn't even a punishable offense here, the title of this video is literally "Kirkman bluffed". Royce had no knowledge of any undercover agents and Kirkman had *_full_* authority to provide classified data to him; he's literally the president and can make final determination on what is classified.

I liked the character immediately He was literally nobody in politics, was even an independent secretary Then this huge, immense responsibility falls down on him after the worst crisis in the history of the country And he prevails, takes the mantle and shows everyone that he takes his new role incredibly serious

Perhaps it shows that those who don't pursue power, assuming they are competent at the job they held previously, can in fact be more competent than those who pursue positions of power for power's sake.

From my time in the US, whilst the South does have a long history of racism and Southerners are stereotyped as being racists, I've noticed that there's probably more racism now in those "Rust Belt" states than in the South. Probably explains why states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin went for Trump in 2016, and why Georgia, Texas and South Carolina turned into Purple states in 2020.

@@extremeheat9283 Now that you mention it, he has probably always hated Muslims and was going to use the Capitol bombing to demonise the Muslim community. He would then plant evidence that would frame them for the bombing, run for president and ban Islam.

In a crisis, when people are scared and need to find someone or something to blame, its easy for leaders to vent this feeling to a community, in times of Rome it was the Barberians, in middle ages in Europe it was the protestant religion, through the history groups like gypsies, Jews, and blacks have always been scapegoat's for Leaders to blame for many things. Am trying not to use obvious examples, but i think you see my point. You can control a population much easier if you blame another group for what wrong.

If a governor decides to round up all the Muslims in their state, or any religious community for that matter, and arrest them for bogus reasons. Then that is a direct violation of the 1st, 5th, 6th and 14th Amendment. By which point yes the federal government can intervene under the Supremacy Clause.

1. A president cannot order a Governor to do something lol, that's not how that works. 2. A president can declassify anything, meaning he could have told the Governor the names of the agents easily and without any issue. 3. It would not be obstructing a federal investigation if CIA agents were detained in accordance to local ordinance. CIA agents are not given immunity in either state or federal land.
