Hey, love your content! I’ve done similar installs using thermostats for fan coils over Modbus RTU, like SIEMENS RDF302. You can partially lock the keypad, set limits on the setpoint, even stop the fan coil from running, and more.230VAC power part is just between the thermostat and the fan coil. Keep it up with the channel!

Couple of comments I would add: 1. With the switch override do they require both enable and inhibit override, if so then you may either need to have the override as an input to the PLC or driving a relay to energise or deenergise the system based on current state. I.e. system off, override to on would need to provide a run signal, system on; override to off would need to interrupt the PLC run signal. Secondly, they mention modulation of fan and valve for room temp control, are they looking towards PID control of the fan and flow valve based on room temp, or are they looking for purely digital on/off control?

Maybe and maybe. The spec/tender wasn't specific so could have been interpreted in multiple ways. I've gone with the most simple design, minimising cost 😎

@@beeautomation an unclear tender and spec with holes in, that doesn’t sound like the automation industry at alll……oh; wait…..yeah it does! 🙈😩

To have the two 'true' conditions is this something that can be done actually using 'true' conditions or does it need to be wired with essentially two switches either physically or virtually that when closed are considered to be in a 'true' state? So like, PLC time between 9-4 - Yes (switch closed) -- Outside temp below 15 - Yes (switch closed) -- Energise relay output This may be really badly worded but hope you understand my question
@beeautomation2 жыл бұрын
True condition 1 = is the time between 9am-4pm (Mon-Fri) True condition 2 = is it below 15 degrees outside If both conditions are true, Close PLC digital output. These conditions are programmed within the PLC. I hope that answers your question 🙂

The time condition is virtual, with no wiring obviously… the temperature condition would be set using a threshold within the programming but will need the physical temperature sensor outside wired into the PLC
@pellinimax2 жыл бұрын
@@beeautomationI think that makes sense, need like an 'And' statement using ladder logic taking one physical input (the temp sensor) and one virtual one (time)

I can’t say I’ve heard of TrendSET… unless you’re talking about Honeywell TREND?

1. 15degc is low! 2. That whole thing could be 230v locally, pipe stat on the flow inside the unit set at 40degc, room stat, override pointless, the rooms warm enough or its not, stat will cover it, if you really want to stop the fans then run a ELV circuit and relay to denergise the 230v supply to the pipestat

Glad you enjoyed the video mate... school kids are much tougher than they used to be, honestly, I think they'll be complaining they're too hot. Did you get that copy of the spec/tender I sent you?

Just logic or you just make it look simple logic 😁
