Made my day!!! I am recovering from knee surgery and you put a huge smile on my face 😀. I never thought to use the static grass applicator the way you did at first 🤣🤣🤣🤣

😂😂😂 I’m so impatient. I can’t be bothered to spend 5 minutes looking for something so I’ll spend 20 minutes doing it the wrong way! 👻 All the best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

I love the green grass, it’s what i chose for my trick or treat lane so it would feel nostalgic and safe. I compensated with lots of fallen leaves, autumn trees and shrubs. Sometimes I think the browns and grays used for Halloween villages dull out the entire display and certain pieces get lost in it instead of popping out. Green with lots of autumn foliage makes for great contrast and works well with certain themes.

You’re right, the brown and grey can kinda wash everything out. I do a lot of cobblestone, which means there’s so much grey!!!

Mind is blown. I don't know why i never thought about tracing the buildings to plan the layout. Easy and reusable. Positively brilliant!

OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one. I plan to bring my large Halloween village out in March to add to it, change it, modify the heck out of it, etc. I'm sooooo glad I'm not alone.

Ok SO! I decided to also make a trick or treat lane this year. It’s more cost effective for the MAIN bottom base to buy the large 8ft long sheet, but I would have to cut it WAY down for the length and width for the space I have. How do you cut down your large sheets of the foam? I just bought a wire cutting table, and I do have some wire tools, but I’m just not sure logistically the best way to cut them down with it being so large.
@KelleyDoesStuff5 ай бұрын
Such a great question! For me, the easiest way to cut large pieces is with a really sharp blade, like a box cutter. I used to use a hot wire knife for this but I didn’t have great control with making very straight cuts. Also, I’m incredibly impatient and with the hot wire tools you really have to let them do the work and not force them through the foam, which is as difficult for me😂 I am more consistent with straight cuts using a box cutter and a yard stick. You could try both methods and see which you like better!

Great display! Could you give me more information about the smaller leaves you got off Amazon?
@KelleyDoesStuff11 ай бұрын
Ok so I tried to find the exact leaves I used last year (2023) and the link on Amazon no longer worked, but I searched for "miniature leaf railway" and found several options that looked just liked the leaves I used. A couple of the results are: FOIMAS realistic miniature leaves, also Cayway 4 pack Model Scenery Leaves, Warmtree Miniature Leaves Simulation, AMLESO Micro Landscape Leaves.

Omg thank you for the reminder!!! I need to get on my pre orders before they sell out!! I do want those pieces!! Dept 56 has so many good intros this year!!! I can’t wait!!! Are you going to get them?! 🧙♀️ 🔮

@@KelleyDoesStuff Yes. Already ordered. I was a little disappointed that the paddle wheel is not a working one. Especially since the technology was used years ago on The Dead Creak Mill. But still happy to see this line!

That is a bummer the paddle wheel isn’t functional! The Dead Creak Mill Piece is so great and the working mill ups the amazing factor! I just ordered my Sanderson house and accessory. I can’t wait to get it. There are several other new pieces I want too. Ahh! I have no more room! 😂
