Yikes 😳 $200/house. I’ve been collecting since ‘96’ and the prices are unbelievable today. I thought what I paid for the original Halloween Carousel was high ($150). It has moving parts and lights, so there is no comparison now. The resale prices are crazy too. I’m looking forward to your Sleepy Hollow Village display. You do great vignettes and Sleepy Hollow is a great story.

I was thinking of getting this, but wasn’t sure about the large mummys sizes compared to the front door size. Love the accessories with this house.

I personally love this house. Dept 56 sometimes is way off on the sizes of some accessories vs the size of the homes themselves.

@@HalloweenVillagesbyCarl Lol! I think that’s why I love Dept 56 so much. The imperfections of size is quaint in it’s own way. I’m seriously thinking of adding it to my Halloween neighborhood. I’m about to watch your Screech Owl house post now. Thank you for addressing nearly every point or issue I’ve had about my hobby. I try not to overspend each year…lol…but they make it difficult with each unique house or Halloween business they design.

Hey I just discovered your channel not too long ago and you do fantastic stuff! I'll be talking about the mummy house sometime this summer on my channel. Overall very solid entry into the trick or treat lane series, but for the price it should have more theming at least in my opinion.

Thanks for the review; it helps the decision-making process. This year I am not sure if I am buying anything, but I do really like the Mummy House & the figurine (I'm torn between these two, or the Witch Hollow building and figurine, if I do buy). $200 American is a lot, so I'm a little worried about Canadian pricing. I don't think the house design is too much like other Trick-r-Treat lane houses, but I do not have all of them. Would you say that the size of this house is similar to the Cemetery House? I hope that you've recovered well.

I do restoration on these houses, so get some paint Carl that matches and some glaze so you’ll cover up those missed spots. The price point was a bit much on this one but all prices have gone up everywhere.

What kind of glaze do you use?

@@TheLadyWoreBlack73 Artists Acrylic Glazing Medium and just use acrylic paint the stuff at Michaels or Hobby lobby and let dry and only for Snow Village do you need glazing Medium it give it the shine you need. For repairs that is a different product all together…Good luck.

I am absolutely enamored with this house! BUT I do not like the tree; I have a plan developing to reposition the tree using galvanized wire and floral tape. Can wait to see the house in your display!

Since you collect both trick or treat lane and the crypts, what are your thoughts on putting the Egyptian themed crypt (2015?) with this house? I have a hard time putting it with the rest of my crypts.

David…I hear you on the 2015 crypt! The ONLY reason I have the 2015 crypt is to complete my collection. Never thought about putting it with this house, but you may be on to something!!

No kidding. I remember and it wasn't that long ago when some trick or treat lane series were $75 with accessories with sound and very detailed. It is beautiful and I still have it. I guess most of those designers have either moved on or retired. Most of the villages today aren't the same. That was great era to collect villages. They are too pricey today with less detail.
