I've been using the new interface every day since it was released. I know change can be a bit challenging, but even with that consideration I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the disappearing/reappearing floating toolbar. For the love of logic, just put the tool bar back, attached, to the top of the workspace. The new version is distracting and takes more work, more steps and more time to access the options. I get that they felt like it was time to modernise the workspace but why do it at the expense of logical workflow? The right panel thing makes it harder too. Yes the left panel used to get irritating sometimes when it opened at inopportune times, but that's all they needed to fix. At least we had access to everything in the arc from the top toolbar down through the left panels. Now it's like a game of digital tennis going from left to right to needing to select something to get access to 'position' in the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't tool bar. The introduction of layers in Canva was the turning point to making it a 'real' design platform, now they make it harder to use them. I also don't know how they got the 'white' background past accessibility checks either. The workspace background is also paler than before making it harder to distinguish where the edge of the page is. Harder on the eyes as well. It's all looking a lot more like Adobe Express now which I think is an odd thing to try and copy, especially when you copy it badly. So yeah, I guess I'm super disappointed that 'progress' throws usability out the window.

I was part of the 1st one million. More clicks to do the same things and the new tool bar that floats is in the way when trying to edit. One example of having to use extra clicks. Lots of great new features, but imo. Less user friendly in several ways.

I was so excited for the Courses until I realised it was only meant for your team. I'm hoping they release this as a full design product which you can embed and share into your website to make them public.

Hopefully they are updating or releasing new upgrades to the website options. There is A LOT of negative videos out there about what the Canva website can't do....I hope the October release can change that. I hope they make it more competative with Wordpress.

I can see how adobe express links with adobe illustrator and photoshop as a way affininity and Canva can co exist to make it efficient for creatives and marketers. If affinity stays as a one off I’m really going to consider making the switch.

Yes I'm still waiting for the refreshed look. But I have to say for some reason ever since Canva Create I've been getting far more error messages on Canva than ever before. Like oops we've got a problem on our end. Try refreshing or coming back later .. This has disrupted my workflow a lot, as I haven't even been able to access my designs to continue working on them. I wonder if the rollout is causing issues.

Hi Lia, yes, most probably it is causing these errors. It's not an easy task to switch to a different/refreshed interface. That's why they rolled it out to a small batch first, to fix the issues before deploying it to everyone. Patience, I guess 😬

Affinity is great tool for publishing publications. I wish Canva made available fir all pro users. About time Canva make more business templates for solopreneurs and small business owners. Please make sure they get this.

I have been an Affinity user for several years and love the program. Like others, I was concerned about whether it would remain as a separate entity but it sounds like it will. I have used Canva in the past and feel it is a remarkable program and it can be a good marriage with Affinity. But, I am very concerned about the licensing of Canva and whether it will spill over into Affinity? Also, can the public see the creations I make in Canva or is there a way to make them private?

Canva communicated to hat it would not change the one-time lifetime license system of Affinity. And no, your designs are not public.

I'm hearing a lot of grumbling from some of the 1 million that the new UI isn't helpful and in fact, ends up taking way more clicks to do things than it used to. I hope Canva is listening to the comments being sent in.

That's also why they have limited this initial roll-out to (only) 1M users. To gather feedback and troubleshoot.

The Affinity suite is pretty similar to Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, ... yes. It's a separate product from Canva, so you'll need to purchase a one-time license for Affinity.

If you are talking about the Zooms and Blur effects we use in our videos, those are made with Premiere Pro by our video editors. We can't do that with Canva at the moment. Though they have the blur effect for both photos and videos.

Hello. I would like to know where to submit or get some updates or if it exists, ideas for Canva. Like, how can I know the exact size of an image on my work so i could change it and have the new one in the same size. Or how to right click and replace the image with a new one ... just like PowerPoint do i think.

Hi there, your first Q about the image dimensions: unfortunately, this feature does not exist yet. That'd be a good one, though. You can probably get in touch with Canva via their Help center and let them know you are interested in that feature. Your second Q: swap an image in one click ... if you drag and drop an image on top of another one, it will replace it. It will even give the second image the effects, corrections, ... of the first one.

First Question. 1. Select the image 2. click position on the top bar 3. You should see the dimensions of the image somewhere in the X and Y box
