That is my favorite thing about markets, that they reward the guy who's right, no matter what everyone else thinks. It's the purest form of meritocracy I know of.
@Vagdinox4 ай бұрын
True also It plays hard with your psycology, cuz when you get stoped out for 1 or 2 pips and then It rips in the direction unpredicted that probably Will switch your brain into gambling money like if It owed you that money same for tp if It misses u for a couple tiks and gives u a break even or loss soo the BEST way ti TRADE IS to have set orders in key áreas and let the time do what ever It has to do

Listening to Jason was very inspiring to me because I recognize many of my own traits in his narrations. I too am a contrarian having trouble respecting hierarchies in the workspace or following the common belief for the sake of communal spirit - which is partly what draws me towards trading the markets. Success there solely depends on one's skill and discipline. Thank you Etienne for the great interview. We can always count on you asking all the relevant questions for us 💛

I relate to this guy. I’m not a good employee, lol… I’ve “sucked it up” for years, and just did what I needed to do to make money at the time. I hate to say it, but had Covid not happened, I’m not so sure I would’ve ever finally used my time to delve into learning about the market and trading. Still working on becoming profitable and it is mainly psychological at this point (I’m working on tamping down my pessimism and just trading what the chart is doing. Rather than what I think a “rational” market should do). Biggest improvement has been stemming losses, by learning how to sit on one’s hands, even if it means letting a winner go by, because you just didn’t feel “in sync” with the price action.
@crowdedmarketreport2 жыл бұрын
Have to trust the system and minimize ego and emotions in order to succeed. Humans are wired to survive which goes against being able to succeed in trading. Lots of hard work and discipline.
@Jacked2theTs2 жыл бұрын
@@crowdedmarketreport yep, for sure. Also, like you mentioned, stay away from the group thought. Lots of people out there thinking they can predict what the market is doing and why. And it’s easy to get sucked into it. Last Friday, after I watched another good trade go by, it finally clicked as to just how toxic, that can be. And I suppose it is driven by our egos, trying to find certainty. No certainty in the markets. Only probabilities. I just sat there asking myself, “Why do I care what the market SHOULD be doing?… It clearly doesn’t matter what I think!… Just control risk and take my setups.” Anyway, thank you for a great interview. 🙏

I can relate to you. I decided to trade so that I won't have to depend on the employer for my paycheck. Learning the market has definitely been a challenge. I hope you give CMR a try.

@Njliving222 жыл бұрын
Guy has wisdom but tough life. Grinder. Who wants to trade 30 markets and sleep twice in a day and watch asia till 2 am. I much rather be the guy trading a couple markets, nasdaq and ES, us cash open morning session, make my money and go enjoy life. I might not make millions per year but I work for myself, have a ton of free time, and make more than what most make in a job
@crowdedmarketreport2 жыл бұрын
Why can't both types of traders be happy with their own approach?
@Njliving222 жыл бұрын
@@crowdedmarketreport if your happy then by all means. But in the interview you mentioned words like hell on earth and I’m just wondering why not develop a strategy/work an edge that gives you less stress and more free time. My mentor is a a trader who trades 40 - 50 lots on ES and just tries to make a couple points a day. Done in the first hour most days. Unless your down a path where your size is 200 plus and your looking for big moves and you want to sleep on big money positions then I get it. I don’t know I’ve just done some self reflection over the last year and I realized that this biz is incredibly stressful and the less I trade the happier I am, and also seems like the better my results are. Sorry for the negativity. If your happy then disregard my comment.
