This is so very rarely spoken of & im so glad you did. We here in the West have actually taken very,very many blessings for granted I've even seen people with attitudes like God owes them something when we should be on our knees just to thank Him for the air we breathe. Our little petty problems are minut compared to other nations , one example is N. K. Just imagine living under a dictator like that. Yes Sir we are absolutely One Hundred percent blessed compared to our poorest we are even richest. Im so ashamed theres people who would give their life to be able to have Jesus ,Lord of their hearts & lives the way that we can & still people would rather argue about the color of their churches carpets & so on. I would recommend the book The Way of the Pilgrim it talks about praying without ceasing from an Eastern Orthodox perspective. Also it may be a liberating read to you if your almost housebound as it speaks of going through Russia and Siberia , being unable to travel because of bad eyesight I know I found it to be so . Just a thought God bless.

Praying in the spirit is letting the Holy spirit intercede for us, through us by the perfect will of God. For we don’t know what to pray for, but the Spirit of God knows the mind of God. Why was the most important aspect of being filled and praying in the spirit (in other languages or tongues) not mentioned? He said a lot of great things but missed the whole meaning of it. The Bible says we don’t know what to pray for, but the spirit of God does. I experienced this first handed. And it’s wonderful and life changing. You can pray in the spirit for hours and hours and feel as if you are entering into the holy of Holies, where it is just you and God, and then he starts fastening the mind to understand what the spirit of God was praying about.

"Pray in the Spiirit" I am suprised that Pastor didn't make the connection in Ephesians 6:17, one verse before 6:18, to define what it is to pray in the Spirit "he sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" and then immediately in v18 says "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit". The conclusion being made in the verses is, to take up the word of God in our prayers, is to take up the Spirit's sword and thus we pray in the Spirit by praying the word of God. 👍

Praying in the SPIRIT does NOT mean the SPIRIT is CONTROLLING YOU! Man has his OWN spirit AND the Holy Spirit. If your prayer was controlled by the Holy Spirit when you opened this sermon- you wouldn't have tripped over your words. God isn't CONTROLLING- there is no freedom in God CONTROLLING YOU. Submitting to the will and works of the LORD doesn't mean your inner man/will/mind/spirit disappears. If that were the case we'd all be perfect and never sin. Do you know how many people prayed (had dialogue with) each OTHER in scripture? Genesis 12:13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. Genesis 16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. Do you have to be "disciplined" to talk to your spouse or boss every day? Do you have "freedom" to approach your boss or spouse every day? If you do not, then your marriage is a mess. Do you "spontaneously" to talk to your boss? Well, you can't interrupt a meeting. Do you just spontaneously interrupt your spouse's tasks? That's called selfishness. You can spontaneously cover for your boss, mow your neighbors lawn or buy your wife flowers, but you cannot approach God for every senseless whim. Do you need a "week of prayer"? In scripture, people were in prayer and fasting for Esther for 3 days before she faced a life or death situation. This was motivated because ALL who prayed were facing the life or death situation, but it was Esther's request as SHE would risk being killed first. I noticed that you appeared to be very proud about your "week of prayer", but the scripture says: Isaiah 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. (people who practice birth control- which causes "spontaneous" abortion or commit abortions with intent, should know until they repent that their prayers aren't even heard- this includes people who've INTENTIONALLY gotten tubes tied and vasectomies, because they have rejected God's will: be fruitful and multiply, children are a blessing and a heritage of the Lord- for their own will: I want to retire sooner, buy the boat, pay off the bills, etc. The meaning of prayer is exchanging YOUR desires for God's WILL- He WILL NOT hear your prayers if you have put YOUR WILL before the Lord's and until you repent and undo the things you can undo- He will NOT hear you). Mark 12:40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. Matthew 6:5-15 And when thou prayest, thou SHALT NOT BE as the HYPOCRITES are: for they LOVE TO PRAY standing IN THE SYNAGOGUES and in the corners of the streets, that they may be SEEN of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet (actually means inner chamber which is the innermost chamber of your HEART and NOT your HOUSE! We have worldly Christians running around fashioning nonsensical prayer closets in their house when they don't even understand HIS WORD! How can you know how to have a dialogue with Him when you don't even KNOW or UNDERSTAND HIM? The worldly people see the WORD in a worldly way- it's all fashion and show), and when thou hast shut thy door (your MOUTH), pray to thy Father which is IN SECRET; and thy Father which seeth IN SECRET shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, USE NOT VAIN REPETITIONS, as the HEATHEN do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. (Do you realize you can ask God for something ONCE and He's already heard you if your dialogue is healthy and you're walking in repentance daily? He doesn't need a "week" of VAIN REPETITIONS!) BE NOT ye therefore LIKE unto THEM (YOU ARE JUST LIKE THEM!): for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of (NOT WANT OF, but NEED OF), BEFORE ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven (acknowledge that He's our Father if we're born again of His Spirit and no longer living our same old sinful lives we once were and acknowledge that He's HIGH above us), Hallowed (Holy) be thy name. (Acknowledge that EVEN HIS VERY NAME is sacred) Thy kingdom come (Express faith that His Kingdom WILL come). Thy will (His will and not OURS) be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (He will come to set everything straight) Give us this day our daily bread. (Jesus said I am the bread of life and He also said that man does NOT live on bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds from the mouth of God- if you do NOT read God's WORD every day, you might as well not talk to Him, because it's in HIS WORD that we hear from HIM and get MANY of our answers. If you have time to set apart to pray- you have time to read His Word and not just to yourself, but with your spouse and your children) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (If you are withholding forgiveness towards ANYONE- God has NO dialogue with you. He has nothing to say to you but FORGIVE and REPENT of UNFORGIVENESS) And lead us not into temptation (these are trials that are unnecessary as God does NOT tempt us), but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, NEITHER will your Father forgive your trespasses- this means once saved always saved is OUT THE WINDOW! The Bible doesn't teach us to have "prayer at mealtimes", but we are to give thanks. We live a life of thankfulness and we show it by giving out of our abundance or what little we have to share with others. Daniel knelt three times a day to have dialogue and give THANKS to God. Are you in seventy years of captivity getting dreams and visions? We are supposed to be imitators of Christ- not other Bible characters. Daniel also didn't have a wife and seek after the things of the flesh. Are you the leper on his knees before Christ BEGGING for healing? There is surely a time and a place to kneel and beg, but it is written: Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. This means we don't have to BEG the Lord. We should BEG for forgiveness if we recognize that we are walking in wickedness just like Peter said: Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Peter recognized (as we all should) that we are sinful and not WORTHY to be called His disciples. He was overwhelmed and SPONTANEOUSLY fell to his knees! In the garden of Gethsemane (that means "oil press") Jesus KNEW He was about to die: Luke 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed Jesus LEFT everyone else to pray ALONE to God! Acts 9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. Peter prayed for RESURRECTION on his knees! There IS a time to BEG- when LIFE DEPENDS ON IT! Does your father in your own life on earth make you BEG on your knees or does he FAVOR you? This church has NO IDEA who their heavenly Father is or how to have a NORMAL dialogue with Him! Acts 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. This was PAUL praying at Ephesus before he went to Jerusalem to be killed- he KNEW he was about to die and they ALL wept together! Acts 21:5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed. And when Paul was led of the Spirit of God NOT to go to Jerusalem he prayed on his knees again, because he KNEW he was about to die! Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ You said you for his family every morning before he has breakfast with them as someone who has "spiritual sense about them" as if men who DON'T do this "chore" have no spiritual sense. Do you think God's protection starts from the moment you wake up and pray until you do it again 24 hours later? 1 Corinthians 7:14 "else were your children unclean; but now are they holy." Get them off milk and onto MEAT! ONLY martyrs get the wedding week! Jesus said in Luke 12:36 "And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately." The horses of Revelation 6 are the colors of the altar of sacrifice- white smoke, fiery red, black coal, pale green (which is the color of the flame emitted when a copper altar is heated) thus explaining why the martyrs are UNDER the ALTAR in the 5th seal? The white horse carries the victory crown of the overcomers! The fiery red horse is given a sacrificial slaughter-knife used in altar sacrifice! The black horse is given scales (the Libra scales eclipse of) March 23, 2024 prior to the fiery black coal eclipse of April 8, 2024 on 1 Nissan which is the FIRST DAY OF BARLEY HARVEST in Israel! The pale (green) horse doesn't kill one FOURTH of the earth, but the FOURTH PART of the sacrifice of wine and oil that were preserved in the Black Horse! Numbers 15:4-5 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of (barley and wheat) flour mingled with the FOURTH PART of an hin of OIL. And the FOURTH PART of an hin of WINE for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or (altar) SACRIFICE, for ONE LAMB (Jesus). Jesus SAID the law was a shadow of things to come! The word pray just means to have dialogue or with plead with. Abraham prayed to Sarah, Lot, his servant- Abraham's servant prayed to the Lord and Rebecca, Rachel prayed to Leah and on and on throughout scripture. Supplication means you need to be added something that you are lacking. Praying in the Greek means exchanging your will for God's will meaning you give up what you want in order for him to give you what you need. Prayer in secret and in your closet is an inner dialogue not a verbal dialogue. This is done in the inner chambers of your heart not your house. You are thinking in the flesh and not in the spirit. Boasting about a week of prayer is foolishness because it contradicts God's word. I think you need to go back and read Matthew 6:5-15. There's also very few times people were actually praying on their knees in scripture and it was usually when they were at death's door or somebody else was at death's door. Solomon preyed on his knees a few times but he also did what was evil in the sight of God so he was seen as a hypocrite in the end. I noticed how you bragged about praying every morning for your family before you have breakfast with them "as a sensible man would do" implying that you are a sensible man and whatever man doesn't do that is not sensible. You sir are an arrogant hypocrite. Do you know what 1 Corinthians 7:14 says? Does the Bible say your prayers are only effective for 24 hours and that buy those prayers our children are justified as protected? That is works. I know no matter where my children are that God has his hand on them because of the promise I have in 1st Corinthians 7:14 and in Job 39:11-12. How can you prepare your church for martyrdom when you don't even teach the basics of biblical prayer? I heard a whole lot of you talking in this message without you ever quoting scripture word for word.

To John Piper: Correct me if I'm wrong. I loved the way you started in prayer "through Jesus" but I'm questioning the closure prayer "in the Name of Jesus". Im not critical, but since you are a proofed years long believer in Christ did you never picked it up from the Word that by beleveing in the Gospel we are given authority to pray through Jesus as we are now part of the body of Christ? I am a member of southern baptist church and i just completed your preaching about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I then watch a bro in the Lord Justine Peters and the title of his video is Heavenly Tourism. You are among those whom he accused who have lied about your story that you went to heaven for 90 min. It was written to a book that sold millions of copies. You are the only one among he accused who belong to a church with a healthy doctrine. What i can say about this is that if you are a true man of God even satan will find nothing to accuse you, but if our very brother in the Lord has against you and you do not correct things to God and to the rest that believed to your lies. I firmly believed that should quit preaching

Don Piper...you can find him on Google. I had spoken with Justin Peters about 2 years ago. I shared an experience I had with the Lord that can be confirmed in the book of Job. Never heard from him again. Pray for Justin, that the Lord will guide him into all truth and grant him spiritual discernment. There are stories that are Not possible to confirm in God's word, and we each need to pray for wisdom and discernment. But when we paint every experience with the same brush, let not that person expect to experience the Lord in a deeper, scriptural way. The Lord does not reward unbelief! Blessings 💝
