When Jesus forgives the elect, do they become innocent?
@garywashington37736 жыл бұрын
Basically because Christ was guilty in our place, all our sins are forgiven and we are now clothed in Christ's righteousness. God sees us as absolutely righteous and sinless
@garywashington37736 жыл бұрын
Forgiveness doesnt free us from the consequences of sin. We are declared legally innocent.

@@garywashington3773 But if I murder your family and Jesus forgives me, I really don't become innocent, do I? Does election or faith in Jesus make us impervious to temptations like murder?
@garywashington37736 жыл бұрын
We're guilty of the sins we commit, that's why we need a savior in the first place. If you killed my family you would be guilty of murder in God's sight, you would likely be found guilty in the criminal justice system but if you repented of your sins and put your faith in Christ then God would view you as innocent and not treat you as guilty because Christ was fully punished for your sins

@@garywashington3773 So God really doesn't seem to care what sins the elect commit, does He? I know several "Christians" (most but perhaps not all Calvinists) who live scam-to-scam against Christians. Some of these are clearly simply masquerading unbelievers, but some really *are* believers and they *believe* that their *belief in Christ* makes them free to sin and safe from divine consequences.
