The judgement of God is not evil meted out on innocent people. It's the fair and proper wages of sin earned by all of us sinners. Christ offers us deliverance from our sin and it's just wages by substituting himself in our stead and taking on the weight of that sin and in turn counts his righteousness as our own... Freely given. His glory, integrity, justice, holiness all demand that sin be dealt with... He is not free to simply dismiss it and so there is the great gospel of Christ... his redemptive plan. This is so vastly different than the sad summary you offer . You miss entirely the freedom, joy and fearlessness that is preached hear in your bleak and erroneous distillation of the gospel. I don't say that to give you a hard time... we've all been wrong about the gospel before... But to encourage you to look again. I hope that in looking again you might see the glory and joy that can be found there.

@@ThisOldHelmet most people that deny Christ don't know they are headed to hell because of sin that can be otherwise so freely forgiven. Not knowing something doesn't mean it isn't true... So yeah... I agree completely that most people in cults don't know they are in a cult. It's also prob helpful to define terms. The common usage of "cult" has implications... Implications that are not true of Christianity.
