Seems really presumptuous. How do you know they're not saved? Who are you to judge? The Episcopal Church has a phrase in a prayer--" and those whose faith is known to you alone"_-that you would do well to adopt and stop being so obsessed like so many Fundies on America about who's saved and who isn't.
@wemuk51702 жыл бұрын
@@erichetherington9314 Sometimes it is hard not to spot. Mine isn’t a fundie church at all & yet you hear a member, saying things like all humans are inherently & basically good deep down within. How on earth can someone possibly be a Christian when he doesn’t believe in the gospel truth in psalm 14:2-3 or Romans 3, that he is in fact, a sinner in need of the Saviour? I hadn’t done anything other than pray each time the Spirit reminds me of him in my memory. In my kind of church [denomination] many people believe they are saved just because they were baptised as infants. Just last weekend I met a young adult in my church who said she is a Christian to people when introducing herself, but when someone gently & informally asked how she came to realise she is a sinner, she said she didn’t know (if she was one). Another friendly follow-up was: so how did you become a Christian then? Again, she looked lost & said she didn’t know but later added she is a Christian & her mum arranged her (infant) baptism. In my church the clergy teach that it is Jesus alone who saves by grace alone through faith alone. But in our denomination, some members will always believe their infant baptism & weekly church attendance had saved them. If you are yourself not praying for or serving such, then perhaps, you could refrain from judging those who do. You could ask & check your own heart, whether you are judgmental of those who care more than you & I do, to risk their popularity out of genuine love for lost souls who think they are saved. It isn’t necessarily about actual sin. It is equally the belief that one is not truly a sinner at all, even though Rom 3:9-12 is so clear that this fact is universal that everyone without exception is guilty of treating themselves as god & not seeking God as if He’s not. It is impossible for anyone to be saved as a Christian, to call on Christ for salvation, if one is unconvinced at all that s/he is a sinner in the first place. Finally, whatever liturgy or prayers Episcopalians may use, there is no such thing as a private affair, personal secret faith known only to God (what nonsense that contradicts all Scripture) if you read 1 John. Even the faith of historical monks in community aren’t a secret private affair: they prayed in community & do a lot of good works amongst the poorest of the poor.

Some folks may be believers but are not at liberty to speak out of fear for their lives. IT Hi! I know you responded a few months ago but I felt the need to tell you that we can’t know if a person is saved simply because they say they believe. We will know who believes because of the fruit they bear in their spiritual walk. If a man/woman truly believes with his/her heart unto righteousness they will bear forth fruit, therefore doing as they are commanded. One cannot live in willful, non-ignorant sin, if they truly believe, and truly have the fear of God in them. Someone is not saved simply by stating they believe, otherwise anyone, who chooses to live whichever type of lifestyle they desire can be saved by just saying “I believe.” Believers are to be set apart because our belief should make us different from the world! We should not be fooled into thinking we can live however we desire and that this will sit well with God, because He said many will come in His name on that day, and He will say, “I never knew you. Depart from me, you doers of iniquity.” Matthew 7:22-23

I think it's a grave mistake to assume that only people with private sin approach others about their public sin. I worry if judgement pushes those away who might otherwise be saved. I’d rather loving them, connecting with them, and modeling a holy life will be more palatable to the unbelieving or those on thier way to believing. Humans don’t tend to appreciate judgement, gossip, or being told or made to feel they are less than. It’s such a tricky subject. Our actions to save could lead to other feeling alienated and worse... alone isolated and lonely. What terrible things the Devil can do with those who feel alienated and judged. Joy and love is always the answer. Save with love because God is love. Love the confused or unbelieving as God loves you and eventually that will lead them to Him in very beautiful and non judgmental way. Pastor John understands. Sharing and loving and offering yourself and God offers himself. Love. How do you save. Love. ❤️

The Bible says they must hear the Word. Showing them the love of God is right, but we must SPEAK the truth to them. The Bible says that we will be held accountable for not turning others from their sin. It says that real love would speak truth to those who need to hear it. The Bible says that a parent that won't discipline their children hate them. It stands to reason that we hate those we won't confront with their sin. If we care about their soul, we would speak truth to them. I understand that discernment and timing makes a difference, and that our intentions are right, but we should seek God in prayer regarding our words toward them and act as He leads. I don't think it is ever appropriate to remain silent, unless they repeatedly refuse to listen to the truth.

I'm not sure about this advice: I appreciate Piper acknowledges we're fallible judges but I think this probably needs more emphasis, after all, God is the only judge that matters. Of course some level of sincerely well intentioned warning can be appropriate but one has to be so so careful they aren't acting out the elder brother's role (in the parable of the prodigal son - being out of touch with God's grace in the face of obvious sin) or indeed pointing out the speck in someone else's eye and ignoring the plank in our own. Scripture says: If someone says with their mouth Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart God rose him from the dead then they are saved. Likewise a Cheistian can do something and it can be rooted in selfishness. Itz much more complicated then say that person seems kind and giving because of his or hers actions and words. We cannot be so quick to judge our brothers and sisters by merely hearing their words it takes really getting to fellowship with them. Also I dont agree with the blunt and sometimes unsympathetic approach to telling people. I'm not saying its ineffective nor unwarranted at times, sometimes it's all you can do or it needs to be done but it wont work for EVERY situation. Gen 1:27. "And God made man according to His image and likeness and gave them authority". That got lost through the fall of man. But is freely returned by Jesus Holy Blood and Holy Spirit IN us. The Gospels were written by man like you and me. Eyewitnesses that saw God walking this earth in Christ. Healing all, raising the dead, casting out demons, controlling nature. He said: "If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. You will understand that the Father is IN me and I am IN you. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and will give you power. The same miracles I do, you will do too, etc ,etc". It is in John 14 up to 17. It is the ultimate conclusion of Gods word. Jesus, born by the Spirit of God, filled with the Spirit of God, God manifested on earth in a human body. Period. Completely normal btw. In Genesis He made man according to His own image and likeness. So what's the fuzz Jesus being the exact image of God in the flesh? He just is. Evenmore. Now by His Spirit we transform back to the same image! Hence the countless miracles i already have experienced. God has come full circle! "As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë = divine life again." Rom 5:18 The divine life the first Adam let go of has been freely returned to us by Christ's blood and Spirit. Because your imams never understood this, they mock, scoff, put it down, contradict it.... leading you away from your true identity in God. Heartbreaking. Same happens in Christianity btw. Most Christians think it is about trying to do good, dodging hell and going to heaven some day. What is the gospel of salvation???how does one get born again according to the Bible?? The Bible says it’s by BELIEVING in what Jesus Christ did on the cross, the finish work of Jesus, God loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son so who ever ( are you à who ever ) BELIEVE in him shall not perish but have eternal life, the point here is BELIEVING, We are saved by grace though faith in Jesus Christ. It’s a free gift from God not of any human efforts or following any traditions so no one could boast. No one in heaven will be able to boast, I love Jesus because I am saved not to be saved or to stay saved but because I am saved.

What right do you have to act God to anybody? I keep quoting the example of the Prodigal's elder brother, pointed out to me by a book on prayer. He had lived a good life, and expected to go to Heaven. But at the last minute, he got self-righteous, and refused to go in. So there is no such thing as being "saved" so that your entrance to Heaven is guaranteed. When you see who is already there, you may think like him, "I am not goig to hang out with that lot," and you may refuse to go in the door, just like him. It is your own choice that locks you out; nobody will drag you inside. Jewish law allowed either son to claim his inheritance at any time; that is what the Prodigal did. It seems odd to most of us, which may be a source of difficulty. And a further thought is, that just like the fallen angels, you have the right to rebel, and be thrown out.

: Because the Word of God clearly teaches that a person is saved by FAITH ALONE in Christ. This is evidenced by Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5 and hundreds of other Scriptures. Romans 4:5 states... "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." The Bible couldn't possibly be any clearer on this matter. Salvation is through faith in Christ's righteousness alone (Romans 4:5-6). This has nothing to do with Christian living. James 2:18 speaks of the FRUIT of a man's faith, which should be evident in every believer's life; BUT, that is completely separate from the ROOT of a man's faith, which is by faith alone in Christ. Lordship Salvationists confuse the two, tragically to their own damnation.

Thanks pastor john ! But we have a question , Why is a man who believe in Jesus ,who is forgiven by Christs death ,and justified by Christs resurection only , assured of grace only , why many preachers take this assurance of salvation by case of not bearing fruit to God? Is trusting Jesus and his finished work , with out anyfruit of us , now and in future , not enough for salvation? The just shall live by faith only. He stands by faith in Christ alive. Here, Christ alone is the proof of his faith . for he was crucified for his sin ,and resurected for his righteousness. Christ was died , but also raised from the dead , His life is the proof ,sign ,show, of the person that believes. Here Christ alone is our Faith and its proof ,sign ,show is ,He Stands Alive. In Him is our faith but more he is our faith (Christs faith) ,in Him we have lifr,but more he is our life,in him we have righteousness but more He (God) is our righteousness. Here ,Christ alone , stands for us in the sight of God. Who ever believed in him shall not be ashamed. For his sake only ,God saved us for his glory. So , why preachers made believers who put their trust in Jesus to be ashamed by him ? Fruits of good works are necessary but not assurance of salvation. If you made fruits assurance of salvation , you may say (judge) believer with fruit will be saved but believer with out fruit will not be saved. Believer can't be ashamed by Christ because of no fruit. Christ alone for salvation is enough ,not Christ + fruits. So , fruits of salvation , that is good works are necessary but not made the salvation of Christ up and down, save and lost. But they testify ,show,mark ,he is saved by faith only. Again this show or unshow ,cant made salvation unsecured. For we are saved by grace through faith ,its Gift of God ,not from us or our works (fruits) . from this assurance we give fruit to God as much as possible by his spirit and grace power. So , i believe we are saved for good works , but are those good works really play a role in the salvation given in Christ by grace as agift alone? So ,how do we know true believer and not true believer ? Is not simple faith in Christ that saves? For its not our faith but jesus ,who saves us? Why is faith viewed as Savior? In order to be saved ,do we have to save (hold) God by faith alone or by works alone ? Or by faith that works? Does God live in us by Good works of faith (by trusting him living for his will) ? Or God lives in us by faith in Jesus because Christ lives by trusting God for his will by works? What is the goal of salvation ,to work for God or God work for you, and you praise him for his glory. But i know sure ,fruits are necessary ,but you may clarify the meaning of fruits ? Thanks for helping us for Christ's sake.

You DON'T tell him. You preach the gospel to a person and go on about your business. God's ways are "higher" yet "simpler. You DO tell the Lord that you preached the gospel to the person. The Scripture says, "the LORD knows them that are His". God NEVER told us to then "weigh in" on someone's "salvation. If a minister thinks something is "off", they should "report it to the Lord". The "new birth" is a work of the Spirit. After a period of time, if a person's "behaviors" don't seem to reflect their "union" with Christ, we have to be mindful of "staying away from certain practices" they are "revealing". A little leaven, leavens the whole lump. You ALWAYS protect the "flock" from anyone or anything, that would seek to steer them away from that union they have with Christ. The Lord already said, "it would be better for them to hang a millstone about their necks, and to be cast into the depths of the sea, than for them to offend one of these little ones. The Lord is patient, and He sends His servants to those who have seemingly, "gone off the grid". The response will either be that the person becomes broken and humbled, or the arrogance against the Lord AND His servant will "intensify". If the latter, you DEFINITELY "shield the sheep" from that person, but keep them in prayer. It's about the minister obeying the Lord, like Nathan did regarding David in II Samuel 12. In that case, David was humbled and repented, which is EXACTLY what God requires. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Works do not save a man, but true faith will always bring works. If you say you love God, and yet you live like the devil, the truth is not in you. "No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’sb seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this, it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother." Also, I'm not saying that Christians can't occasionally sin, I'm saying that true Christians don't live in their sin. God bless.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” Romans 7:14-25 KJVA We are saved by faith alone are you saying the apostle Paul wasn’t truly living in his sin the apostle Paul was a True Christian and lived in his sin

The believer who stumbles in his walk with the Lord regrets it, confesses it, wishes to never do it again and seeks to appropriate God’s power and grace to avoid it.
