Well, I'm so sad at my failed attempt to make this bag. I got almost all the way to the end and realized that the bottom corners were not caught and that because of the Fabric I use flannel-turning it inside out and right side out it had ripped through through the front rivet . I used decovil light as well as another interfacing making it very stiff and almost impossible to manipulate. 😢 I think trying it with a light canvas or nylon and not using that heavy stabilizer until the end would work much better for me.

Nice work but I am certainly not ready for all that yet. everything but the zipper/box corner would be OK but unless that zip was a lot longer I would never get the pull on evenly I was wondering too since the bag doesn't lay out flat because of the wings why does the zip have to go all the way down through the box corners, it could stop above them? Also you really do a perfect tutorial, nicely paced, clear and easy to watch.

Thanks. If the zip didn’t go to the bottom of the bag it would hinder the bag opening still. The wings only work properly with a full zip opening

Yes. We sell zip pulls with small loops and then I add the beads with a little cord. Thanks. I hope you like it

Quick question: are you able to add the stabilizer at the very end if you’ve riveted the straps through the lining? It seems like the rivets would block the stabilizer. Or maybe I’m missing something? I honestly don’t have a specific use for this bag but it looks so challenging and fun! Maybe my mom needs another bag. 😀

You’re right you either need to fit the rivets when sewing the exterior or at the very end after you’ve fitted the stabiliser. The pattern highlights when to fit the rivets for both options 😃
