that's what this play looks like to me. if the play gets in late ... bad things happen WAY MORE OFTEN than not. and THAT PART is 100% on the coaches. they would have been better off burning a timeout there. Look at how he has to run for his life the instant the ball is snapped. NFL coaches are like Henry Winkler in The Waterboy with his little green notebook of cool plays -they fall in love with their little play designs where they always have 5 different receivers going out into pass patterns. They really should run more max protect stuff more often, where 7 blockers stay in to pass protect, giving the QB plenty of time to find 3 receivers. 3 receivers should be enough on a lot of plays, assuming you have enough time.

@VicInNocal Ridder absolutely has the talent to succeed. He has zero confidence and zero competent coaching. He is gunshy and scared shitless at all times and it leads to either terrible off-platform throws out of fear, or hesitation. Not to mention he plays hero on literally every single pass whether it's necessary or not. None of that is a recipe for success and instead of it being coached out of him he is simply thrown to the wolves as a scapegoat time and time again, then benched. It's honestly insane to watch.

If anyone watched this game. This was Art worse Nightmare. Because Matt Ryan spilled the beans. Everybody keeps trying to blame Ridder. But Matt straight up told you Art wasnt putting Ridder or his defense in situations to be successful. He literally said on two of the INTs that it was Robinson fault for not running the route right. Ridder is throwing the ball with anticipation and Robinson on one play stop running the route mid route allowed the DB to smoother the route and pick the pass off on the sideline. Then on the slant he allowed the Defender to undercut the route again and the pass was Picked off. The he told you on multiple occasions that Art is getting the play calls in way too late. He explained that the Falcons offense has built in pre snap movement and when the play comes in late the way it has been for multiple games now. It doesn't allow for the pre-snap movements to take place which messes up the blocking and protection numbers in the box wise and it doesn't allow Ridder the time to check out of that play into a better play. Or allow for him to make the defense declair what coverage they are in. Then Matt said Art is putting his Rookie QB and his defense in bad situations by not punting or just taking the points. That Art was being way too aggressive on his 4th down attempts and his mismanagement of the clock down in the red zone was making it hard for his Rookie QB also. Because the plays were again getting in way too late. Then he said they ran out of red zone pass plays. You heard it out Matts mouth having been in this offense before under Art

Y’all gotta chill with trying to fire head coaches after six fucking games. Y’all are ruining the NFL with this bullshit. We give young QBs 6 different coaches in 5 years and then sit and wonder why they don’t look good lmao. Give the team time to grow. The falcons are not supposed to be good, I don’t know what y’all are expecting.

The camera should have panned to the team owner instead. He probably had that "cow to the slaughter" look like he normally does.

That was close to my reaction when coach went for two instead of kicking the extra point.

Smith is to blame for putting Ridder in that situation. Horrible coach. 3 yards from the end zone, you have Bijan & Algiers on your team, WHY ARE YOU THROWING THE BALL, GENIUS?
