Wasn't in the movie but im very glad that it's still part of the Blade runner musical universe cause just like the other cues it's a beautiful and incredible masterpiece by Vangelis. Love the soothing piano at the beginning, pulsing forth the true essence and emotion of the Blade runner world.

Me cuesta definir con palabras la conmovedora belleza y melancolía que transmite esta canción. Y si va acompañada por tan excelentes imágenes, el resultado es inmejorable. Muchas gracias por compartir el vídeo.

Once this song picks up as far as luscious layers and depth, it is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs on the soundtrack. 3:56 on is easily a hair raising moment for me. Things get very dark and grim, but gorgeous at the same time. Thank you for the upload 7 years ago!

This track was originally in the workprint of Blade Runner during the kiss me scene. It was later replaced by the "love theme" with the cheesy saxophone. My guess why the song was changed is that Ridley Scott wanted to use a song that was more memorable. In my opinion "Desolation Path" is much more fitting than the sax as the kiss me scene is very dark and is not really a "love scene". I made an edit of the film with this song replacing the saxophone track as well as different music at Taffy's bar by Byrne and Eno. Also I used If I Didn't Care by the Inkspots instead of One More Kiss Dear, as the Inkspots song is far more fitting to how Deckard feels about Rachael, as it was the original choice of music before the Inkspots threatened to sue. I also removed the unicorn dream. If anyone is interested in my edit, let me know.

Thanks! I actually took those photos from a Blu Ray version of Blade Runner. Unfortunately, I had downloaded it but later on I lost it, and ended up with a regular (non-HD) version of Blade Runner (actual DVD). I must admit, though, the Blu Ray version was spectacular compared to the regular version lol.

You got it! It is from the 'Blade Runner Trilogy (Music From the Motion Picture) [ 25th Anniversary Edition' album. I found this on iTunes. Other awesome songs are: - Dimitri's Bar - Dr. Tyrell's Owl (played when the transparent shades are lowered before Deckard interviews Rachael).

A pity they couldn't have used in this unused piece in Blade Runner 2049. While being quite good in parts, the score lacks this majestic, swooning melancholia that only Vangelis can create...

@ALSNEDDON Definitely. This is my favorite out of the whole trilogy, especially this "unreleased" stuff he has on the trilogy that was never heard in the movie. I guess he made up for the other unreleased instrumentals that were in the movie (ex. 'Morning At The Bradbury' ). I cannot wait for whatever his next album or song will be next!
