They're one of my favorite DR ships for certain! I'm always happy to see other people enjoy my edits for them. I completed V3 when it officially released in English, so I'm familiar with all the Love Suites, and the game's bonus modes. The original Hope's Peak Academy Arc has my heart forever, but V3 is a fabulous game that added so much to Kodaka's oeuvre and I adore it very much too.

Hey, just wanted to apologize to you that you were getting harassment on my channel -- I've deleted the thread in question. While I believe that the games make a very clear distinction between the events of the HPA arc and the events of V3, I don't have any patience for the way people were treating you in the other thread. It was unkind, and the last thing DR fandom needs is more unkindness. If people ever treat you in my comments like that again, feel free to leave a top-level comment (a direct reply to the video) so I can see it. Part of the reason bad actors harass others in chains like that is because the original poster of the video won't get notified, and will be less likely to step in and shut trolling down. I would prefer to keep my comments section free of the kind of people who intentionally are hurtful to others, you know?

I think that if anything pushes Despaircest forward as authorial intent, it's their behaviour towards each other in DR3. I think it's very difficult to view that behavior in any other light. I don't think Tsumugi's interests prove Despaircest's canon either way; V3 is its own continuity. I think it's the other way around, if anything, possibly providing a reason she became invested in DR. Incest is a common theme in DR (the realistic trauma that Leon and Kotoko suffer vs the more doujin-trope inspired takes on Despaircest and the Shingujis, that are used to alienate them from the audience), and I can see why her interests would lead her there.
