The irony was that Paul killed her with that blender she stole later, that's what I'd call poetic justice. I loved these quirky and dark fine details the writers put into the show in the early years.

you can see how martha was so sure to go to mary alice's house, i mean, if you hear a bullet noice, specially on a suburb like that you dont know from where it comes bc all the houses are so close to each other, so if you look the whole show and than go back to this scene, it all makes sense .

Martha Huber is the real villain of DH
@barbiquearea11 жыл бұрын
I've always wondered why Mary Alice literally jumped the gun after she received the threatening note from Martha Huber? It seemed pretty irrational for her to commit suicide in that situation. Couldn't she have shown the note to Paul and the two of them could have found out the identity of the sender. And considering how Martha Huber's motive was to blackmail the Youngs to give her financial support, they could have bought her off. Suicide seemed completely unnecessary.

You want the show to be boring?? The suicide of Mary Alice is basically the whole build-up of the show-
@andreeastroe40412 жыл бұрын
It wasn't about the note. It was about the guilt that consumed her during all those years, killing the real mother of Zack. Mary Alice was a good person and that weighted heavely on her consciousness. The note was only the trigger.

@quangminhtran29162 жыл бұрын
yes, and coincidently Bree almost went to the same path as Mary Alice in the final season, Bree was about to commit suicide and left a note but then Renee stormed in and saved her from doing what Mary Alice did 12 years ago.

Historically men won’t admit to watching these shows because they look down on anything where women are the stars.
@kendallrivers11198 ай бұрын
@BLTKellys really? Well I'm a man and I enjoy shows like this, Golden Girls, Living Single, The Closer, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Charmed, Girlfriends, etc. So what does that say? Also many men loved the Aliens films with Sigourney Weaver or Terminator with Linda Hamilton. All of these ended up being huge hits with everyone not just women you know.

Did the "Desperate Housewives" turn into the "Stepford Wives?"
@mikep533511 ай бұрын
These opening narrations always take the form of..."A statement about one of the ladies...1) Example one from her past. 2) Example 2 from her past 3) Example 3 from her past... And then "yes. repeating original statement about the ladies...and then some ironic twist type follow up line". It's that way on every show...

I always wondered what Mrs Hubbard did for a living….
@shanefolan91752 жыл бұрын
she didn't work I would say, she said her husband died and left her penniless so that's why she blackmailed people and was always looking for a fast buck. Mrs Hubbard looked about early 50s when the show started in 04 so for her age it was believable she was a housewife who relayed on her husband as this was more common for women of her era. She likely was living off benefits.
