I can't believe I played in this band almost 40 years ago. If there was ever a turning point in my life, that was it. Pure exta-see! These are my favorite moments: 1:05 - phenomenal double tenor player, total cool. 3:02 - the expression on the 4-pan cello woman's face just after the key change . Makes me want to cry. You can see how Bradley's arranging affects people. 3:33 - the tall guy on twelve bass hitting those blind notes at 7-o'clock - so cool. 3:58 - time out from conducting to admire the flag dancer. 4:17 - fast duddup on the bass pinning down the chromatic crazies 4:25 - that crazy chromatic unison line so perfectly executed, moving into double key change - only Bradley can dream these things up. Then the deep back-beat strumming. Bradley jumping up like no tomorrow, and the audience totally freaking out. 5:05 - that long roll continues right over the rhythm section stop. 5:21 - unison syncopation brace yourself place, difficult navigation ahead 5:35 - most insane run, Despers so damn clean. 5:55 - Bradley and the flag dancer again. Not so tiny-winey - take that to Carnegie Hall please. 5:42 - after that crazy run - BOOM chatacha - chatacha - BOOMBOOM -chatacha chatacha - then a whole new feel. That strum! 7:00 - veteran tenor players, solid 50 years older than half the band. Like how they share that grab at 7:11. 7:15 - sounds like a 70's movie sound track 7:24 - how about that action on the 12 bass omg. 7:25 - praises to God 7:52 - Pure Shango setting up the 8:00 Big Band voicing. Try that Duke Ellington. 9:00 - audience, wow.

Re; @ 4:21- it's like it was a BOMB! Bradley really showed everyone it was a full orchestra; his music always revealed combinations of sounds unheard of almost sounding distorted in the most harmonious way! I second this song is a footprint in history of panorama arrangements!

It was PERFECT! Bradoes was in fine form that night clowning with his flag women and easin' the final night tension for his players. By the key change at 4:20 my pores were raised and I was screaming with the sweetness and agony of this my all time favourite arrangement. LOL. Thanks for sharing the live event and for the memories it has evoked. RIP BOSS BRADOES.

There are too many good Bradley arrangements for me to choose just one and say it's his best. Just when you think you've found one, you hear something incredible in another...his New York arrangements were incredible as well.

@cellosteelpanman ... you know if I were from All Stars I would say it is common knowledge that tune "X" from my band was the best arrangement to never win. Same for Phase II, Desperadoes, etc. Having said that, "Sailing" was a masterful piece of work, as was "No Pan" ... and a few more

Hey I agree with you about Renegades not winning with Bee's Melody but I think Pan in A Minor is the best Jit arranged and did not win. This was a good arrangement by Bradley, they deserved to win that year!

I thought Renegades won with Bees Melody it was part of their hat trick. Somebody then Iron Man then Bees Melody. Thats what I remember.

This is a piece of steelband history that must be shared with our community: The refusal of New tones steel orchestra of Master arranger Sir Clive Bradley’s arrangement of IN MY HOUSE as the follow up to their winning panorama was the beginning of the demise of one of Arima’s best steel bands.I was left speechless when it was disclosed to me by none other than the captain who told me he wanted a more popular tune so he told the artist to arrange Toco Band instead the rest is a very sad history.
