Bruno cruz Death metal and metalcore, actually. Despised Icon are one of the truest bands to that combination as clear influence from both can be heard. Death metal and hardcore ends up sounding like grindcore, and Napalm Death are well known for going back and forth between those styles.

And yet, they are VERY ORIGINAL. and amazingly TECHNICAL. And if you listen to their songs carefully, they are very groovy too. They also said that they didnt even know they were being called a 'deathcore' band, and they dont really like it. They dont want to look like they are in a band wagon, and they write their original material. Also, hating a band cause of their appearance or fans, are the stupidest reasons ever.

supposedly some of the live tracks were re-recorded in the studio and then put onto the DVD. It makes sense because there is no feedback at all during the performance and they are all hitting the notes straight on without any mistakes.

There first album is by far there best. The ills of modern man is okay, but doesn't show off there true musicianship. It's more focused on being fast and hardcore than it is on being good music. i've seen despised icon before in nashville and i have to say that they aren't very technical, sure they have some technical stuff to their songs, but not alot. the drumming is the most technical, in my opinion. btw, whitechapel is my favorite band live and i like them more than oceano, but i've never seen oceano live, however i'm betting money that they are extremely good. also whitechapels' live performance depends on where you see them at, i saw them at the muse, which is a very small place
