It's called a drop clutch. A drop clutch closes the hi-hat cymbals without foot pressure. It makes it so you to play closed hats and double bass simultaneously. You hit a rod sticking out above the top cymbals with a stick to close that hats. Look it up. They're pretty useful.

This is an extremely solid performance, why the fuck does anyone care what they look like? Underrated? They are like what Bolt Thrower are for Old School Death Metal. They reached the point where you can't go any more popular with a Brutal Death/Deathcore Style. And let's be honest: music like this wasn't made to be "popular", or at least popular to a certain point. I'm not saying that everything in metal should stay underground or whatever, but as long as the people out there keep the band alive, everything's fine ;-)
