Absolutely a game changer. Over 20 years of dealing with PTSD and the wrong meds or holding it buried in side. Tomorrow is Week 3 of therapy and just beginning EMDR. I am so very grateful that I have come across this and I have found a common family that we are learning and growing together and being supportive of each other’s needs and this is how we heal. Thank you my brothers and sisters.

Bilateral stimulation causes associations to occur in EMDR therapy. That may be what's happening. This particular bilateral stimulation is a bit on the faster side so your trauma may be getting stirred up because of it. It's a real thing. Maybe this isn't for your nervous system today. I wish you healing and support. ♡

I think i need something a bit slower with less string/horn mix (maybe just horns?). I feel no drop in intensity. Not for me. Just curious what makes this emdr music??
@DestinedDynamics4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question. Thank you for asking it, because I'm sure there are a lot of people who have the same question. Bilateral beat alone or set in relaxing music, sends the beat back and forth, activating both left and right sides of the brain, which helps the brain reset itself and work the way it's intended to. It is able to calm the brain chatter (so to speak) down and be able to focus. When you experience a traumatic event, you remember it differently than other events. During the traumatic event, the fight or flight response causes all of our senses to be on high alert. It's not remembered in a nice little storyboard format. Instead the brain starts getting bombarded with the fragmented memories of different aspects all the senses were noticing at the same time. Because of that, when you try to work on the trauma, the brain tends to relive the trauma in a way that can be really terrifying and information can come too fast to deal with effectively. That's a very basic explanation of why it helps in emdr work, because it simply helps the brain calm down, find refuge from the panic or anxiety, and focus on the task at hand in a productive way. We have the serendipity to work with one of the great pioneers and leaders in trauma informed care, bilateral beat and other brain trauma healing and recovery research. If you have specific questions, we will ask her those questions. In fact we are planning to have an interview with her in the coming months and your questions would help us prepare for that. Hope that helps a little in the meantime :-)

@@DestinedDynamics what should I do when listening to this??
@Elya082 жыл бұрын
@@hadesisbaby I’m not the poster of this video, but I’ve been doing EMDR with my therapist. You can simply listen (headphones are best for this) and see what comes up for you emotionally, physically, and any memories that pop up. You may remember things you weren’t able to before. For me, I’ve started sobbing, seemingly randomly, sometimes when I use EMDR, because I don’t have the visual components of my traumatic memories, but I remember how I felt and how I had to stuff those emotions to stay safe in that moment. So, my trapped emotions get released, and I feel more peaceful, less anxious, and more able to focus on the present day moments instead of the past traumas that keep affecting me in various ways. Hope this helps you! 🥰

Traumatologist knows how to treat trauma, a trauma informed therapist knows how to create an environment and interactions that create or trigger existing trauma reactions.
@ylyenithnieves677 Жыл бұрын
