For those wondering, "Dark forest logic" is a way of thinking which states that every cvilization is akin to a hunter in a dark forest and must be as discrete as possible and kill every other hunter they detect. this stems from the idea that the amount of resources within the universe is finite and that every civilization must destroy the others as quickly as possible so they don't have to share. Basically today's fossil fuel crisis but every nation destroys the others as soon as they meet.

Note: Dark Forrest Logic is referring to the Dark Forrest Hypothesis, one of the proposed solutions to the Fermi Paradox (the paradox of us no encountering any signs of non-terrestrial life, despite the universe's size and age). The Dark Forrest Hypothesis assumes that any kind of content is a death sentence either due to hostility being the default state being lifeform from different worlds or due a superpredator hunting any civilization that would reveal itself. The hypothesis was popularised by Liu Cixin's book by the same name.

The ammo also doubles as the coolant for the reactor so it absorbs all the excess heat from the reactor and the environment and gets hot itself. When you shoot there's less coolant which means hotter reactor and more heat per coolant, which is how it ramps up in damage.
