It's a little thing, and I don't take it too seriously, but there's a Ghost scannable somewhere in the tower (I wanna say between EV and the hangar, or near Banshee's kiosk), that refers to a Banshee-43. It would've been made during vanilla D2, so again, I don't hold it to too much scrutiny, but it's there.

I know right? Just picture it: You hand banshee back the sword. Some memories begin to return, and more life returns to his eyes. Something connected with him, like a jigsaw piece, it made him partly whole again. You've heard the story, about how he defeated masses of vex and came out on top. But this time it's history repeating itself - the city needs its gunsmith. However, upon receiving these unwanted memories, he refused to fight. He fears that he will remember too much, and cause more damage than what the ghost of his life already has done. You can't waste anymore time, banshee or not, the fight needs a victor, and you can't let the enemy have it. You, Ikora and Osiris are down on Nessus, preventing the vex mind from transforming the Exodus Black Failsafe AI into a giant hacking network for all comms and signals for all of humanity; humanity's worst fear coming to life. As they take their final stand, more upon more vex begin to appear, and what looks like the end is only just the beginning. With their strength slowly beginning to weaken, a chain can be heard in the distance. It's wails, sounding barbaric. Blood curdling. Like a banshee. His eyes fix on the hundreds of vex ahead, and his memory won't fail him this time. Within moments of machines being turned to scraps, banshee stands on top of a mountain pile of vex, some still twitching, each one leaking fluids and sparks. Another sound is heard though, something of a teleporter activating, and behind him rose a large vex mind, ready to finish its objective. Banshee turns, and closes his eyes for a second. After taking a deep breath, he opens them with sharp narrow vision. And without hesitation or second thought, the most beautiful display of combat and butchery was ever performed. The mind exploded, and banshee only walked away from the mass of dead and reaped vex. His return to the tower was met with eyes fascinated with him. His story was out there. His past was told to almost everyone in the city, but they don't recognise him as the man who invented the exo program or deep stone crypt, they see him as a guardian. Their guardian. Their gunsmith. Their banshee

This doesn't match up with the scannable in the tower though where Banshee is locked out of his datapad because he tried to log on as a previous version of himself.

Not really. This is the transcript of the Ghost scan you do in the Tower: The last login on this terminal was from Banshee-44, but… he tried and failed so many logins as Banshee-41 that it locked him out. All those reboots might have finally gotten to him. It just means that instead of entering "Banshee-44" as his login, he was entering "Banshee-41", since his memory circuits are whacked.

Banshee-44 doesn't know his previous selves are Clovis 1-43 he'd had his memory wiped so he'd assume his previous selves are Banshee 1-43

Excellent work as always. One little thing most people fail to notice though.. "You can ask others about Deep Stone and they'll tell you about the army. They might confess one truth, which is this: we have to kill the army to get to the tower. Usually this starts bare-handed, and somewhere along the way you take a weapon. Ask again and if they're buzzed they might also admit that most of us don't make it to the Tower, except once or twice. None of them will tell you that the army is made of everyone we meet. The people we work with and the people we see in the street and the people we tell about our dreams. We kill them all. I think because we were made to kill and this is the part of us that thinks about nothing else. Often I kill people I don't know, but like most of us I think I knew them once, in the time before one reset or another, when my mind was younger and less terribly scarred." This is that moment. This is why so many Exos dream of a great battle in front of the tower. They are having flashes of memory from when they were here fighting and losing and rebooting as the fought Vex and likely Vex-corrupted Exos. Maybe even their own former selves.

Myelin Games, I recently had a look at what was left behind by the previous Seasons. The Barge in Watcher’s Grave on Nessus has crashed. The Forges are blocked or completely gone, with no trace of having ever been there. And I found some writing on a wall in Smidur’s Cavern in the EDZ on Earth, where the Volundr Forge was found. Don’t know what language it is.

So, are we to assume that the frame used for Clovis exo (banshee 44) was in some way superior to the other frames use on other exos? If this is the reason he did so well in his neo style "training" and is the reason why so was able to fight the vex so effectively then are we also to assume that specific frame was copied multiple times in readiness for rebooting himself. I mean, the guy died 43 times, was each time in one of those superior exo frames? He wanted to be the best right. But he died over and over, did he have multiple "better" frames lying around in anticipation?

Elsie and Clovis hinted a few times at Clovis having a bit of a softer side in the past before he got obsessed with his research. I wonder if Banshee, due to being more of a blank slate, was more like a younger Clovis considering he wasn't burdened with so much knowledge. You missed out on part where Banshee says how he feels about Elsie.. how he wishes he could have been good grandfather to her unlike his original self and how he can feel tears tho they never appear while hugging her for the final goodbye. It really made it all that more tragic.. that Clovis has become human through becoming his own creation at the end of his life.

It looks like we will find this out in the future. My guess is that with the vex gone, he focused his efforts on the next big thing, which is aiding the guardians in their fight for peace. Thus, he decided to join the vanguard. Chances are everyone just thought he was just another exo in the world, like cayde
