A fun fact is that if you have a Special or Heavy slot exotic equipped alongside Rose at the time, you just... become unarmed. Like you actually just don't have a weapon equipped in your primary slot and can't even switch to it. It's super weird to see lol. I kind of wonder if there's a quest exotic that does the same thing but in the Special or Heavy slots, if you could just run around with literally one weapon.

I love the idea of guardians crafting a new logic. The hive has sword logic, Mara has bomb logic, guardians... Guardians have garden logic.

I'd like to think the guardians are using their own logic too, my interpretation of it is the cultivation logic. let a seed grow, and when the right time comes, strike with all your might, cause the chain reaction of light and let the seed bloom. we are guardians but also humans, we evolve through conflict and bloodshed, tears and pain, but we always come on top in the end. I really hope the next steps of destiny will let us choose our path, the path of darkness, the path of light , or the path of equilibrium, balance between the forces of creation

I remember when shin first gave us the last word in Destiny 2, I think he felt most sympathy cause we went through the same journey of Revenge in forsaken. Even using ours mentor's handgun to avenge him.

I like the use of "The Man They Called Cayde" at 7:53, cause the death of Cayde is what caused us to become darker and blur the lines between light and dark.

Not only that. Cayde's lore book, just like Shin's, ends with a warning. Cayde challenges us to find the path to our best selves and to have faith in a better tomorrow. Shin warns us to stay true to the path of Hope, and to remember that "Nothing ends." Neither our fight for survival, nor the hope that we can overcome every obstacle. Cayde, even beyond the grave, pointed us towards the path of Hope; Shin helped us stay true to it.

I would like to point out, the last verse in the e3 forsaken trailer song is, "I fight and i fight, just to keep the spark alive. but if theres nothing on the other side... why can't I leave well enough alone, and go to the light." It feels almost all of the annual pass is our story, guided by shin malphur. We fought and fought with the ace of spades and the last word, we saw what was on "the other side" with thorn and even malfeasance, and now we came back to the light with Lumina. Or at least thats how I see MY story. Curious on what all of your guys' thoughts are. And this all started with the lost of a friend, that sparked this conflict in us and to have us walk this path.

Jacob Sprinkle -Maybe it’s just my bias for the Drifter, but I’d like to think I’m in the middle. The way I saw my guardians’ story is as follows: After Forsaken where my Guardian stood was in the middle of light and dark. Upon the events of the Annual Pass his thoughts shifted back and forth, between light and dark; good and evil. From getting Last Word and Ace of Spades, to achieving the Thorn and Malfeasance: my Guardian has treaded a thin line. Upon getting Lumina, that hadn’t changed. Lumina was meant to be my (our Guardian, however you see it) returning back to the Light. But I’d like to think mine never did. To truly snuff out evil, you have to fight fire with fire, per say. Only a combination of light and dark; the grey area in between; will evil be delayed. That’s the way I see my story in this world. That Grey is exactly what the Drifter talks about. You can’t win the war without a little cheating here and there. You gotta be willing to *misbehave.*

I just got the Lumina yesturday. Worth it. I love this gun. My favorite was Thorn but now, it's the Lumina. Now i need to get the catalyst. Just realized the Lumina is a reflection of our journey. From weilding the light in arrogant pride to loosing our light & learning how to survive without it for a brief time. Then we reconnected with our light, relearned how to use it & became stronger for it. We bloomed too.

Wish we could really make it our own weapon, say being able to choose what it would ultimately become like what we did with rose to make it into a "selfless" weapon. We get a frame, choose the end result and go about different steps to forge it; a weapon unique to each wielder

I had a dream like that a couple weeks ago. I was playing a warlock(as a virulent Titan main this dumbfounds me) in Crucible, and the graphics were SUPER crisp. It was a hive themed map that had three "decks" connected by two slopes. Each team spawned on opposite sides, Red at the top deck, Blue at the bottom. There was plenty of spiked cover and other misc stuff like that. The middle deck had a large circular room underneath a large sphere similar to the Shrine of Oryx on the Moon, that often became the first conflict point. I remember checking my inventory a lot and it was similar to the one we have now, only more colorful and in the center where you'd see a title, was a yellow bar that was a one word description of what was an intrinsic perk. Mine was basically "Sight" or some such. I had better target acquisition with all weapons, but it wasn't anything too heinous, It was just a little easier to snap onto targets. I was using a handcannon and a scout rifle I think, it felt more like D1 Crucible. It was cool, but Halo started to leak into the dream. like I was talking to some AI or maybe my ghost, but it sounded distinctly like Halo 2 Cortana.

@@timewellspent8137 few things, firstly: even in dreams warlocks are meta, secondly that location sounded awesome for a new map and thirdly: that perk reminds me of the iron lord artifacts from d1 (like the ones that kept your radar while ads, or the 1 that removed sprint cooldown)

@@chem2430 Yeah something similar, only each perk was somewhat "unique" to the player. Like I remember saying to myself in the dream, "...Don't worry my *intrinsic* perk lets me [something] [something] [I don't remember]." Basically the "Sight" description I gave earlier. Oh yeah and the map was awesome. There were other sort of side-decks connected perpendicular to the slopes that gave better cover and a hogher vantage over the lower decks. It was a bit unbalanced if you spawned at the bottom like I did in the dream, but after the first conflict, the spawns shifted indefinitely from those points, to the side-decks and other places left out of the dream.

@@chem2430 yeah like make the titles mean something. A passive perk that can only be acquired by completing the title requirements, that way you REALLY stand out with the title. Chronicler could highlight weak points or give target info like health or something like that. Wayfarer might give you a more detailed radar. Unbroken could be the better target acquisition with all weapons. They should all relate somewhat to how they are achieved.

Na. First Curse is just a twin sibling of TLW. No one really quite knows what the story behind The First Curse is mainly because it wasn't really expounded upon. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that we will hear about because it wasn't that popular of a gun in D1. And as much as I love the gun, it also wasn't the most optimal HC either.

It’s very good, you just need a crucible partner and communicate. Ace of spades can two tap, and sturm can 1 tap. The issue is it’s bad as if you play solo.

I've been waiting for this video. Well done, lore daddy. Game-wise I hope Lumina is only the first of future noble weapons of light. Lore-wise, the the next steps to forging the dark into a tool we can use against the Darkness and its minions will be quite intriguing.

I doubt it. We will most likely get a season that is a continuation of their stories, but I don't think they will be directly involved. It would be cool to get a sort of cameo with shin though, maybe seeing him using his golden gun so that his appearance is still left secret.

That's exactly why I'm still pretty dodgy on the idea of doing literally anything with the darkness honestly. Even if we bend it and subjugate it without falling to it, is it not still Sword Logic? Does the enemy not still spiritually win? The idea of redemption is one thing, but does redemption by force... really entirely qualify? Yknow sometimes I wish we could find and befriend a Hive defector or something like we how we sort of became allies with The Spider. I really want to have a better understanding of what in the world all their madness actually means, given our sources are dodgy at best. Sadly, uh... I don't think we're gonna get anybody prominent even if we do considering it's apparently our life's mission to end Oryx's entire bloodline, but honestly I'd like to just talk to even a shmuck who's capable of independent thought and isn't entirely on board with the whole murderous worm cult thing. ...yknow on that note I honestly can't tell if the Hive are a... hive mind or not. Sometimes they strongly seem that way and other times they're depicted as acting with purpose, intent, and, though twisted, reason. And that confuses me immensely.

A few things 1. This is the grand story of redemption and growth of a hated weapon and ourselves and byf the way you present it vocally was capital A amazing. 2. Yeah there is some residual background chatter but I dont think it detracts because of the themes of us working together as guardians. 3. I don't know off hand if this was all destiny related music but my god... you captured the struggle of the in game story and the triumph of our ability to resist the ever present corruption fighting against us. 4. This is the final and Byf if you're reading this you reminded me why I love Destiny. I've hit a grind burnout after playing so much crucible this season to get Broadsword. But, now I am once again ready to fight for the light! Thank you!

Question: Is the Darkness really evil? I personally believe Light and Darkness aren't necessarily good or evil as those are human concepts. Light and Darkness are just energy and whether or not it's good or evil depends upon those who wield it. It's easy to see Darkness as being evil because of how destructive it is, especially when we see so many "evil" civilizations using it. But it's not like everyone who used the Light was pure of heart. Some of the first Risen had in fact used their Light to become Warlords and subjugated everyone around them and battling each other for territory. Even though they were Light-bearers empowered by the Traveler itself, they used their power for nefarious purposes. Surely a Guardian fueled by Dark energy could do the opposite and use their power for good, despite the stigma surrounding that Darkness. I have a feeling Destiny 3 will eventually head in that direction. We will become "corrupted" with the Darkness, but that doesn't mean we'll become evil. Although I would expect us to be shunned by those who see the Darkness as pure evil and nothing more.

Furthermore, people are given the light and they can choose what to do with it. That does not make the light evil but the people. However as I said before the very nature of the dark is to kill and destroy until nothing is left but the perfect existence. So (at least in the context of this game) yes there are intrinsic things that make the light good and the darkness evil.

@@adarkwind4712 Isn't that the Hive's interpretation of the Darkness though? I thought the exact nature of the Darkness was never actually defined and we only have theory proposed by random characters. Ulan-Tan for example considers the Darkness to be part of the cosmic balance in the universe. It's meant to be the counterpart to the Traveler itself. Honestly this makes sense to me. The Traveler might create life and bring life to dead worlds, but death and decay is part of the natural order of the universe. Where there is life, there is death and that doesn't necessarily make the Darkness evil.

NihilusShadow old books of sorrow for one. Where oryx actually comes into contact with it. Though you could say that we were told by another hive that the book is full of lies. Not that we can exactly trust that either. However we do have caydes run in with the darkness personally listed in his journal.

The dynamic of lumina and thorn are quite poetic as when you think of thorn (generally not always) you think of I kind of lone gun/ outcast. And thorn is great if you’re playing alone. And when you think of lumina and being cleansed you think of something/someone returning home. Similar to how lumina is beat used in a fire team to quickly heal teammates.
