the future of destiny 2 was already marked by a bad omen, they dropped the old canon and made a new one on the fly. the killed the overseer who was gonna be a villain but should have been a key link to the traveler. now its just an ongoing mess of a game, paywalled this and quests that lead you directly into the paywalls. advertisements cover roughly 30% of the map of the planets... the party has been over since they offed kayde.

I playwed OG destiny, and only dropped the game after i beat forsaken. Just to come back in 2020, and all that content i loved to be gone. All of it, the memories of the game, early summer in highschool. Booting up the game, journeying to nessus, finding cayde. Getting ikora back, the vanguard fighting alongside you. EDIT: that clip of joe struggling with the overload champion boils my blood with how bad bungie is at balancing weapons for pvp and pve. they gave le monarque overload due to how much the player wanted it and then they nerf the poison duration which was what made le monarque good for overload in the first place.

I won’t lie I’ve been out of the community for probably a year and a half now, something about starting witch queen just, made me snap. I always considered myself the black sheep among my friends from just being different with too much and feeling responsible for it. Seeing everything that’s happened now from a more so observer perspective has me torn between feeling horrible for a dedicated community and feeling so inconceivably enraged by Bungie’s near impossible fall from grace. I only hope you all are able to find some kind of peace in the near future or at least able to move onto greener pastures from a dev team that truly focuses on community-first.
