Love your vids since D1, always packed with interesting and well presented details. The Witch Queen felt more like peak Destiny. Pale Heart aestetics feel like a crossover from another game (just like Neomuna also did), it's so saturated, so cartoonish at some of its locations. Speaking of locations, there's too many fantasy locations, I wish real planets were still a thing (again not talking about that Neomuna thing). The new enemies especially the "bats" don't feel like they are out of the Destiny world either but rather a God of War type of game. Nice expansion, but Destiny has definitely loose its identity now. It's the main gripe I have with this game I used to love. I miss the days we were simply super powered cosmonauts visiting planets of Sol.

For D3, I don't want to start over. The supers, weapons, exotics. Bungie was able to get away with wiping the slate clean once, but to repeat that would inevitably sour people on this franchise. Much like sunsetting did, much like vaulting content that many people paid for, etc.

Yeah, if they plan to release D3 we need to be able to take everything with us. Anything less is going backwards in a franchise that has continued to evolve in the past 7 years. This was one of the main criticisms of destiny 2. Starting over fit with the theme that Ghal took our light but they can’t do this a second time. We can’t go from 9 raids, 6 subclasses and thousands of weapons to 1 raid, 3 subclasses and 100 guns. One better solution is to just do what DE have done with warframe and just upgrade the engine every few years. Warframe has been going for 10 years now and gets continually updated with new chapters.

The scrapped ending of us reviving ghost would have been very bad for the story in general. Is that just a thing you can do now? If it is, why wouldn't we do it for whatever ghost we can? If it's just a one off thing, why is it just a one off thing? Would have felt very forced. Glad they scrapped it.

We wouldn't be able to do it for whatever ghost, because it's OUR Ghost we revived. Just like how our Ghost can't revive someone who isn't us, we can't revive a Ghost that isn't ours.

I don't think you know enough about the lore bud. We could have done it with OUR ghost because we're linked together. Also our ghost makes a comment when we harmonize the light and dark saying that he's only felt that kind of power once before. When the traveler created him. Outright saying that the traveler used light and dark to create the ghosts. So meditating and using the the light and dark to bring the ghost back would have been a great ending because it would have been us OUTGROWING the need to depend on the traveler and make our own destiny. Cayde coming back only to be used as a plot device is definitely worse writing than the alternative and definitely feels way more forced within the lore.

Ghost says the Darkness gives memories while the Light takes them away. It says this during the mission when we go into the Pyramid on Europa. These 'memories ' of the Witness maybe be memories it's returning to entities, almost like echos of the past.

With current understanding of how light and darkness works. The light controls the physical while the darkness controls the psychological. Thus the light can revive the physical body but not the mind, which is why guardians lose the memories of before they were guardians. And why Savathun was able to restore Crow's memories of Uldren Sov with hive darkness magic.

They've been foreshadowing the Guardian's death for a while now, but now we know we'll become a part of the Traveler. That's probably the catalyst for D3 if it happens. I just hope they don't abandon Sol. I've always found the real planets and moons more interesting than the fictional locations. Dreaming City is great and all, but I find it way cooler to explore real places where humans have actually sent probes.

There's lore that implies the witness went rogue and doesn't follow the winnowers logic. The winnower follows sword logic, however the witness said that sword logic is pretty damn stupid (obviously not its actual words)

The Winnower does in fact talk to you multiple times through lore, and has also been shown to have spoken to Oryx before he became the taken king. Not only that, but the winnower has an uncomfortably laid back and jovial tone when it speaks. Entirely matter-of-fact and with a weirdly personal familiarity.

Cayde can also mirror the ideals of the Divine, in which the Universal Powers created things in order to experience and perceive themselves in many very old traditions. Cayde being able to be there with you in the Light could ultimately have been the Traveler responding to your call. Since it is stated in-game that Cayde-6 doesn't seem to be the Cayde-6 we know. He is a construct fully made of light, "like a ghost".

Something cool, when you’re going through the prophecy dungeon, on the walls of “rainbow Road” (sparrow encounter) you can see etchings on the walls that look a lot like the circle with a triangle in the center, but with two additions, is seven sided shape outside of the triangle but inside of the circle, and a smaller circle intersecting the circle but only touching the 7 sided shape.

I do think, however, another expansion setting up d3 with a plot point in how we lose our stuff (the death of our guardian) and maybe starting a new story in a different system with new ghosts from the traveler reviving new people that aren’t class specific

The Gardener and The Winnower are just two different ideologies. The irony is we actually prove both ideologies true no matter what. So neither will have a reason to really oppose us. Gardener wants to nurture life and believes all life deserves to exist, the winnower believes only the strong should live. As guardians we fight to save our allies and their species that cant defend themselves, thus doing what the gardener wants. Though we do that by proving we are stronger and eliminate our enemies because they are weak, thus doing what the winnower wants.

Assuming that it actually happens, I think the "no classes" thing wont be exactly no classes but that the abilities will be available to everyone. Like you have a "class" thats either warlock hunter or titan, thats a part of your characters identity, maybe sets what abilities you learn earlier and/or know by default and dictates what kind of armor you use but ultimately you can unlock every ability. That way bungie can have their cake and eat it too. And technically we have examples of this in lore already like how felwinter was a warlock who used shoulder charge

well so from what i understand the witness is not a tool of the winnower. the witness saw this game happening and wanted it to end so he took it upon himself to try and end the game by not allowing anyone to prove they are the strongest. so in part i don’t think the witness ever was following the winnower. that’s just what we believed cause in the other exotic ship it also states that the winnower does in fact believe that only the strongest should survive (aka sword logic)

The four legged witness model looked abit like some concept art, from D1, that showed a guardian next to a huge four legged thing. also in the end shot of the excision fight, you can see that the witnesses monolith is him. not a building he is in, but actually him. like "my name is byf" said, the complexity of the raid would suggest it has a complicated set of internal systems. like organs and a nervous system, responding to an invasive force.

Considering Xivu’s state and the fact Savathun did wanna resurrect Oryx, I could ultimately see her trying to resurrect Xivu. This would also explain why she helped Eris. So Xivu is in a position to be killed and get resurrected.

I want to believe that Frontiers will be like the last big update to D2 where we prepare for the exodus past Sol. and when D3 happens we will go to maybe Torobatl to face Xivu or maybe we reclaim Riis (which would be weird seeing that the Fallen took hundreds of years to come to Sol from there so maybe the Dreadnaught will make us get there fast) where we will get "Payback" for the Cabal and Eliksni. They could also nerf us by saying we are to far from the Traveller to tap into our complete power.

I think... and hear me out... the reason why the Gardener (the Traveler) is silent is because it is a part of the rule. It cannot talk to us, otherwise, it would break that rule. So... maybe, the Witness, somehow either witnessed the conversation between the Gardener or the Winnower or the Winnower told it about the beginning. Some food for thought.

so how i took that scene, Cayde was the traveler answer... the traveler used cayde as a tool, to revive the ghost, cayde light remained bc of the traveler so that gave cayde the ability to channel his remaining light, which is from the traveler... we asked to bring back one ghost, the only way that happens is the traveler using cayde or giving him the ability to... deliver that answer, the revive. I could only imagine that to be the way it could be bc we still had Cayde bc of the traveler... if tht makes sense

Whenever we do get D3, if there really are no classes and all characters can do anything, it means we aren't gonna be in the boots of guardians anymore. Think of it like this, guardians are so iconically split into classes that if they come out and say like "oh there were some other guardians that existed forever ago but they separated from the rest at some.point and it looks like they have evolved the power of the light to be less restricted" or whatever, it kinda wouldn't sit right yeah? So here it is, we finish out the episodes here dealing with the fallout from beating the witness, and Osiris and Saint go out to explore the universe. They come across some other civilization that has either found their own way to use light and dark or has their own unique powers. These people never had an issue using certain abilities based on classes or anything so there is just the people with powers and the people without. This would allow us to start on a fresh new story without needing to take previous lore into heavy consideration as well as justify not having any of our previous loot. They can also experiment with new abilities and stuff not explicitly tied to our notions of light and dark.

The Traveller is more akin to the Veil than it is to the Gardener. The Traveller is a physical manifestation and source of the Light, while the Veil is the same for the Darkness. The Light and Dark are primordial forces used by individuals. The first were the Gardener and the Winnower since time immemorial. Their game went on for eons but never really changed. The Gardener proposed a change to the game to allow new outcomes, but the Winnower refused. They went to war, nearly destroying the Garden and thus giving start to the first versions of every infinite universe. It's probably in this moment that the Traveller and Veil were created

According to the Lore the Gardener changed the rules while the Winnower wanted to keep them as they were. This means the Darkness the Winnower, wants to go back to a time before the Gardener changed the rules and everything was in balance. Do who really are the good guys and who are the bad. This ambiguity is at the heart of Destiny which is reflective of the real world.

Err no. There is no "Puppetmaster above The Witness" The Winnower doesn't DO anything, it's an entity of natural finality. It is of the Dark, but not proactive, it's not even reactive. The Traveller was made by The Gardener. If anything, The Witness was the enemy of both The Gardener and Winnower because it wanted to end their game.

0:16 I thought the Winnower didn't control the Witness? The Witness had an idea about how the final shape should look based on its own ideas, ideas which the Winnower despised and claimed that the Witness corrupted. There is no bigger boss behind the Witness, besides Xivu, the Vex, etc. The Winnower does not fit into that group. The Winnower is a fundamental property of the universe, like electromagnetism or quantum dynamics. It isn't useful to think of the Winnower as a boss or puppetmaster because it doesn't control. In fact, it was the Gardener's choice to add free will to our universe that allowed the Witness to be created, since the Precursors chose to merge their consciousnesses together using the Veil. Annoys me how the Destiny community immediately thinks of the Winnower as a boss, when the same could be said of the Gardener. Really, neither should be considered as such

2:15 This actually isn't true. In that cutscene, Sundance is the Traveler. Sundance represents the Traveler in the previous cutscene with Cayde reliving his death, as well. In that cutscene, Cayde asks Sundance, "Is that really you?", to which Sundance replies, "I'm what you wanted me to be.", implying that it's the Traveler/Light speaking to Cayde as Sundance, because Cayde wanted to see Sundance again. The Traveler speaks directly to Cayde, as he's a being made entirely of Light, and likely urged him to sacrifice himself to resurrect Ghost, as he was ripped from the Traveler and brought by to life by an Ahamkara. He wasn't meant to be alive again, and was violently pulled out of a peaceful nothingness, thus had to return to the Light for things to be right again.

'ergo sum' means 'therefore i am' in particular its ornament is called 'dubito ergo cogito', which is the fuller version of the quote you are familiar with, and means 'i doubt, therefore i think' so together, they form Rene Descartes philosophical quote 'i doubt, therefore i think, therefore i am' the quote comes from the idea that if a demon were to be manipulating your reality to the point you couldn't be sure what is and what isn't real, then the one thing you could always be sure of is that YOU exist. the fact that you are here, doubting your very existence, is proof that you exist; 'i doubt, therefore i think, therefore i am'. or 'if i can doubt, then i can think, and if i can think, i must exist'.
