Honestly though, in most raids I can't see a use for this as there's almost always a place to normally well skate from. Either that or the area is too cramped to safely skate anyway. (This is just cope because I can't consistently do it)

Anywhere you can’t make use of the full speed of the ledge skate is where this is useful. Hallways, chaining into ledge skates, anywhere where ledges may be harder to get to than flat ground, etc.

Imo this is mostly for after landing from a regular ledge sk8. Could even be better than a ledge sk8 in pvp. The ease of use and reduced speeds are actualy more practical now. I think this could be meta in something like gambit as silly as that sounds. Being able to outrun/ dodge a rocket from an invader is super important. closing the gap on an invader and forcing them to focus on you rather than just popping heads is also nice.

I’ve gotten it to work once on controller. It’s very difficult and I doubt I’m going to see many people pulling it off consistently on controller without paddles. The well skate is even harder on controller since the timing is more strict.

Good luck, I’m a controller main and I was only able to pull this off once when practicing. I use paddles but the timing is too strict for me unless I change the way my buttons are mapped. But on m and k its easy with scroll wheel.

I found it’s easier to light swing off a ledge/ incline rather than timing first jump. It ruins the uniqueness, but it’s a good middle ground between heavy skate and no ammo skate.

i know the whole appeal of this tech is that you don’t need a ledge, but it’s hella easier to light swing off a cliff, rather than jumping then light swinging. I guess i’ll be using it when i need something between heavy skate and no ammo skate. Also, i thought it was interesting since we now know why skating works. I think “special” sword swings (lament, eager edge) make our character immune to momentum loss for a certain amount of time before “reactivating.” This means that if we do actions that change our speed while in “no momentum loss,” we’ll fly.

For any controller users, *yes it is possible* and yes, it is possible to do it consistently. I have hit more than five in a row consistently. If you guys want, I have some clips of me pulling it off that I can upload to my channel if you don't want to take my word for it. If you're just looking for a text format explanation, on Xbox Controller (sorry ps bros) you need to press A > RB > A > B *very quickly* (These are default controller keybinds, btw) Here are my finger setups: - Right index finger on the A button - Left index finger on the RB button - Right middle finger on the B button [EDIT] Also, have your air dive ability binded to single press!

In a speedrun situation (assuming hunter), I would probably not opt to use lament because it doesn't have the extra long distances a heavy eager edge swing would have. An option for boss DPS wouldnt make sense either because LFRs exist. However, new tech is always exciting to discover

i was curious if I was doing it too fast as well, so I made a macro to test it. There is no way you are doing it too fast, since the macro works perfectly and only takes 60ms to execute. I do it without the macro but was curious to see how hard I could push it.

Bro, actually you don't need 30 years pass. It will only give you an access to dungeon and some cosmetics. You need to complete starter quest to Dares of eternity, and after you will be able to farm this activity.

Press jump and swing together, then quickly press jump and Shatter Dive together. I couldn't give much advice since I'm not on controller, hopefully this helps, at least a little.

They are harder at higher fps, as technically with you adding in more frames for the game to register your button clicks, the tighter the timings become for execution. Playing at 60 fps helps with consistency.

@@aurens. idk about other people but i play on a main setup at 120 fps (just a preference since that's my preferred refresh rate monitor ) and I am much more consistent at hard tricks (like swing into shatter, double light skate with regular eager and triple eager with enhanced) on a higher frame rate. For context i am taking the comparison to my current setup which is at 65 fps.

Oh man I thought the jump+wellskate was well known... I was practicing my well skates a week ago and accidentally did it from the height of a jump without a ledge and I thought it was just common for people to do it. Is that something that just wasn't possible before some recent update or did no one really report on this yet? Because it is not that hard to accidentally do when screwing around in Eternity map for practice.

Shatter skate is harder by default as you have to Hold down the button to shatter dive. Try it with well first and then consider rebinding the shatter dive key

This 100% works on console. I'm an Xbox player and was able to chain it over and over again on the ground. On Xbox the inputs go * A > RB > A > B*, but for PS it might go something like *X > R1 > X > Circle* in really fast succession. I'm talking like, REAL fast succession. I needed to use both hands to get this input fast enough.

Add a * before the keybind you want to use to make it trigger regardless of whatever button(s) you're currently pressing. If you use Shift to sprint, it'll prevent it from running since it'll be reading Shift + Input instead of just Input, without the *. In this case it'd be *V::
