Destiny 2 OOB: The Moon Button

Apparently there is a button on the moon.
A big red button. Surely nothing will go wrong if we press it, right?
Thanks to The Cube17 for spotting this. I missed it back when we went to the Dreaming City from the Moon ( • Destiny 2 OOB: Reachin... ), though we didn't have grapple flying at the time, so getting there would've either taken a lot of Z Climbing, or some fancy sparrow work.
The old Pit of Heresy IRB can still work, but the drop autorez is no longer useful since we can't get out of map until the pathway to the first autorez. That means completing first encounter to use the second one. But at least it's still doable.
The button itself is actually functional! Quite unexpected. It's pretty much the closest thing we've got to a real out of bounds easter egg. No clue what purpose it serves. Given that it's in a D1 location, there's decent odds that it exists there as well, though I've got no clue how you'd get to it. Let me know if you pull it off!

It's more likely just testing switch on/off connections when pressed for debugging purposes.

I did some level design for Valve's Day of Defeat game and we used to put levers and buttons in map to test sequences like an exploding wall or bomb crater or to rest the map to a certain condition for testing. I suspect that's what this is.

The dreaming city space is the ascendant part of the Dark Monastery mission! I’m so excited because I’ve been staring up at that skybox in the mission wondering what the structure was, it’s bothered me for a while and it feels like an itch that was finally scratched.

If you're talking about the big bright thing in the sky, that's the Shrine of Oryx. If you mean in the Dreaming City, I think you can just see all the over world things cause the bubble isn't there outside of the mission. Although the ascendant bubbles are all messed up and like 10x too big, so you'd see stuff anyways. If you're in Dreaming City, it's one of Harbingers Seclude, the ascendant challenge, the confluence hub, or the season of the lost(?) Intro mission area.

Theres an old video from back when beyond light came out where a person got out of bounds in the exo challenge where you have the bonfires. Outside the map is a giant darkness/pyramid tower along with some models for enemies. I dont think youve done a video about it but i think it would be pretty cool.

I guess I haven't. Had to look through my Europa list to be sure, since I know I've gone out of all of em. Those areas are huge, though largely empty. Climbing that tower takes a while.

Hey froggy :-), Love your stuff, I wasn't sure if you had a video for this or not but I was reminded this week with the Oracle offering taking us to the Queens throne area, has that ever been explored or is it a moot point since there's a likely death wall pretty close to the edge? It's just such a vast space out into space but I wasn't sure if maybe somebody had managed to get on top of that rock face. That dreaming city part is apart of the weekly story mission when you go north to Rheasilvia. I believe the mission was Dark Monastery

Gotta do it in air. The countdown starts when you touch the ground, and if the timer is going, it won't go away till it ends.

To activate eager edge. It requires swapping weapons, and ghost counts as a "weapon"

@@Froggy618157725 now that's intresting. In D1 there is a Mission and a Strike located there. In the Mission there is a giant Sphere that gets destroyed at the end. Maybe it has something to do with that.

froggy have you tried sword flying with a Nadir Focus sword?

Yeah. It has some weird properties, but fast swinging to activate the perk is at odds with long distance sword flying. Comes in handy for some niche things, like exploring the Crota's End 1-2 transition hallway.

Every time I use sword and leap across. Using sword to lunge but my titan air leap depletes. No more gliding or jumping. How do I glide and swing sword and keep my jump going?

@@archerman6755 You have to have the exotic armor, "lion rampart" equipped to do the infinite sword fly on titan, also it has a timing to it

Hunters can grapple fly too. Navigator makes most routes possible on all characters, unless you need some other specialty thing.
