Destiny 2: Reacting To That Shocking Final Shape Trailer

Well I cannot say I was expecting that. An incredible final trailer for Destiny 2's The Final Shape which may almost give too much away. Here are my thoughts as I watch.

To me, the witness making the figures surrounding Zavala fall is in my eyes taking the weight of responsibility (all the faceless people he has to protect) off his shoulders, in an effort to tempt him into becoming a disciple. That's part of what Zavala has been struggling with, the responsibility of being the leader. Being a discipline means no more leadership,no more pain, no more weight of protecting everyone.

It's probably how it stays sane with so many personalities contained in one form/body/mind. The veils give them anonymity and prevent The Witness from ever thinking about life or who they were before. Same goes for all statues of their race, being covered up to hide identity.

In the lore book for the final shape collectors edition it’s implied that some members of the precursor species avoided being combined into the witness. I feel like the veiled figure with the mirror could be one of those such members. If you remember from the witness origin cutscene the precursor species always wore heavy draped garb and covers over their faces.

@@Moobeus when the precursors found the veil they were manipulated into merging their consciousness and become the witness. The same thing almost happened to the scientists studying the veil on neomuna. I don’t see why the precursors who avoided becoming the witness would turn right around and help it. I have no doubt that the witness is “the first knife” that the winnower says it saw in its hand when it inserted itself into the universe. There was never any proof the unveiling lore book is a lie. People just assume it is because it came from the witness.

Lightfall was way more flashy than this trailer, but it didn't have the substance, the darkness that this one does. So I think it's okay to get hyped for The FInal Shape. Lightfall felt like something they made when they realized they couldn't finish this story to be used right after Witch Queen

Bungie always makes banger trailers and this one is definitely no different! I quit the game back in November and have been enjoying watching the game from a distance as Bungie implemented some really great changes to the game. As it stands, as awesome as that trailer is, I will continue to watch from a distance. Through its ups and downs, the game remained great at its core, but for me personally, I don't like what it's become. The "bottom-line first" approach really killed it for me and I think it continues to put players second, regardless of the amazing changes it has done. Still, I'm glad that many others can and will enjoy it and I will follow the game's story until the end of the Final Shape. Looking forward to seeing what they've been working on. 👍🏾

I don't want to be rude, because it was a "reaction" video (even though I think the understanding was Paul has watched it once already?) but this video was extremely low effort and has misinformation in it almost every time Paul goes to make a point about something. I got bored so I made a list to clear some things up. Tassi Correction List: 5:00 - This is not something that was ever said. We have already had a trailer with Shaxx and many other nameless guardians in it. 5:38 - That's not us in our "original" jumpships. Those are Zavala and Ikora's specific arcadia class jumpship models leading the way. Next shot shows Zavala in the cockpit. 5:46 - This cloth was not from his family. This is a piece of Amanda Holliday's scarf. You can tell by the design, and the poetry in that it's established in a shot of Zavala in the cockpit. 6:50 - This is the figure in all of the veiled statues, and the one that we've seen in cutscenes. Beyond that, everything else is speculation and Bungie changes their ideas over and over again. This was never part of an "unconfirmed darkness enemy race." 7:38 - This is not Cayde's body. There are breasts, and no exo horn. The arm is burned with bracelets. Likely Amanda Holliday. P.S. You can use the "" keys to go frame by frame. Someone else here said that too. Hope that helps.

The Witness really does remind me a lot of Kala, the Hindu God of Time/Death, with The Winnower personifying 'Night'. The way that all life on Earth is rendered as effigies has similar overtones to Hindu cataclysm. It thus implies that directly confronting The Witness fails and only Guardians (we), not the Vanguard, can undo what has been done.

Well here is the thing Bungie did show Savathûn inside the pale heart alongside the Lucent hive so really there is going to be every enemy race in this destination (Hive, Lucent Hive, Taken, Cabal, Scorn, Fallen and the new Dread). But the only drawback to this destination is it's going to be a private session for everyone meaning you won't see randoms running around so it's private for you and your friends unless you matchmake in the new mode!. plus the Campaign missions are going to have Raid/Dungeon like mechanics in them too (Without the Wipe mechanics).

Actually, Prismatic allows us to use the Light and Darkness powers together where as without it we couldn't do that. You could always use all the Light powers together or the Darkness powers together but never combine them until Prismatic came about.

Lore wise all guardians are able to use any Light power together. The classes we have are almost purely gameplay driven. The Titan Warlock and Hunter are more philosophies in the lore, so Bungie uses that to make classes. But any hunter could theoretically use Titan abilities if they so wished to train.

This all looks crazy hype. But I'm not holding too much hope for your theory that the "cubing" of Earth is what is actually happening and ultimately reversible, as opposed to, say, a vision. While the "reality" view of it feels very tangible and fear-inducing and interesting, I think it would be a little cheap to "cube" and then "un-cube" the planet. Would we un-cube the planet after the last campaign mission? Will everyone be cubed until the Raid is beaten? Once everyone and everything is un-cubed, will it be as if these things never happened? I just think a "vision" theory is more believable. You mentioned that Crow was a Solar Hunter and Ikora a Void Warlock - in Crow's case I don't think he has been shown wielding non-Solar Light, but Ikora and Zavala have. During the WQ campaign Ikora used Nova Bomb and Chaos Reach in quick succession, and Zavala has used Fist of Havoc in cinematics and Ward of Dawn in the Red War opening mission. And in the "Immolation Part 2" Lore from Season of the Hunt, Osiris casts a dual-wield Dawnblade into a Nova Bomb into a Well of Radiance into Arc attacks into Nova Warp into Chaos Reach (right before Sagira sacrifices herself to protect him). However, I think you are right that wielding Prismatic will be reserved exclusively for "our" Guardian and possibly a few others. The ending shot of all the Cabal, Fallen, and Guardian ships gives major Rise of Skywalker vibes. Bungie really is hitting the Endgame / finale vibes. I can't describe how excited I am for this DLC, back when the delay was announced I couldn't imagine how long it would be to reach this point and here we are. Saying that there is only a week until the Final Shape is unbelievable.

The fabric on Zavala's arm is from Amanda Holliday's armband. The veiled figures are the Witness before it amalgamated itself into one body. If you look back to the Ahsa cutscene where she explains the Witness's origins, you'll notice that their robes look similar, minus the cutout for their faces. I'm betting that Zavala probably will be corrupted so they can write him out of the series. A couple of reasons: 1) I don't think Keith David would stick around as long as Lance did to do voice lines; he's probably got a busy schedule with other films and whatnot. Plus, he's getting on up in age and may want to retire soon. So they might have signed him on just for Final Shape, especially when it comes to how expensive actors are with their rates. 2) In the last (or was it the first?) vidoc, they showed a scene of a house with the Witness's smoke heads coming out of the chimney. Pretty sure that's where Zavala lived with Safiyah and Hakeem.

Looks like the veiled character is signaling Zavala with a piece of shattered mirror, like how the Witness spoke to Calus it did it through a portal that looked like broken glass. Also it looked like Mara was wearing some sort of combat power suit, which would be epic.

Seems a bit weird to call in Keith David and then kill off Zavala, honestly. I don't think it's completely out of the realm of possibility that Cayde is alive but he can only live in the Traveler, Cayde informs Crow about The Vanguard Dare making Crow officially the new Hunter Vanguard, Zavala dies or is corrupted by The Witness and is replaced by Saint (unlikely unless there is a new Trials vendor not to mention Saint was the Titan Vanguard in the past already), Ikora also dies and is replaced by Osiris (once again I think this is unlikely but not out of the question and, much like Saint, Osiris also already served as the Warlock Vanguard at some point)

What you're saying makes no sense lol, imagine if they replaced Zavala VA with some bum, for the final shape. People would riot. I'm sure it's similar to whatever they were paying Lance, they already had a budget for VAs set aside. Doesn't matter if he lives or dies. The role would've required star power no matter what. That's like saying why does any movie cast big name actors unless they plan on sequels. Plenty of standalone movies and shows and games have big name actors.

Bungie did state they will be looking into ways of bringing back the old weapons from the start and seasons. they said this "in the future We will be looking into ways of returning most or all of the legacy weapons but with updated origin traits". So really we will be getting all the weapons back that were sunsetted (Which are going to be un-sunsetted in TFS).
