My favorite part has gotta be that timed mission. I did the harder version of it last night and it was pretty fun and intense. Getting two loot drops per run is nice and the timer adds a lot of tension but never actually caused us to wipe. If they can come out with a few more missions like that and put them in a playlist, I'd love it.

You mentioned being able to craft them in the video and I unironically think that's a great idea. It'd be cool to have a craftable piece of armor. Make it so you need like 7 patterns to craft it. Make it cost a lot to shape and switch out perks. Have your first clear of the week be a confirmed red border, with higher chances for subsequent runs. And have the random drops from the chests (ideally with a buff to the drop rates) have a lower chance. That way, if you play enough, you WILL get the roll you want. There's just too many perks for this to be just a random low chance drop

I hate to say it but we were never going to get anything crazy with the episodes. They put all their eggs into TFS basket and while it’s has heavily paid off we definitely are falling back into the seasonal model. While I don’t love it I accept it as the reality of the game

The issue is that its the same season stuff in a new box, and everyone was hoping for more amazing stuff after TFS being amazing

Expansions are for the players, seasons are for the shareholders

So far this has been supplemental to FS far more then it’s own thing. If you did the gm excision, got your ergo catalyst completed, have Microcasm and your khvostov, got all the class item rolls you want, got all raid weapons with good rolls, went flawless both first weekends of trials, have a god roll riposte, all prismatic fragments and have all pinnacles done this week already..okay I get it I guess. Having these remaining things to do isn’t the best, but I’ve touched these activities only as much as necessary. I just got my exotic weapons and grinded dual destiny this week. Haven’t even been able to get a 3rd raid in. How you guys are done or bored is beyond me, but when a season comes out alongside a whole campaign I can understand it. It’s the next episode that needs to keep the momentum strong.

I think that every episode is going to have a really poor act 1, and it will only be highlighted more when there isn’t an expansion to back it up. Hopefully acts 2 and 3 are better

A great counter to people pulling you forward is to emote while they fight the boss by themselves.

The deliberate blocking of solo players from these items has not just split the D2 player base, but has created a resentment with those excluded that will only be voiced properly when Bungie tries to get paid for something. This will badly harm player population in the short to medium term and mark my words, when the next round of layoffs come, this will be why.

Destiny is perfect for people who play around 10 hours of it in a week. If it's not enough for you, the general "you", play something else alongside it. If you find yourself playing nothing but Destiny for a whole week, you're doing it wrong. (Not really, its just my opinion)

The time gating is just so dumb.

Don't forget, Episodes now cost more than Seasons used to, $10 up to $12 (though actually $15, as there isn't a way to buy the $12 worth of silver yet). I imagine this will get overlooked for a while because Echoes is packaged with Final Shape, so everyone already has it. It's not a huge change in price, up from $40 four all 4 seasons to $45 for three episodes （depends on how substantial the episodes content actually ends up being） but if things continue as they are, I think we the players are holding the short end of the stick here.

7:05 they throttle your xp after 100 so waht is usually 5 levels becomes 1. Usually by the end of week 2 I'm around 200 but I'm currently at 125

Considering we won’t get the next dlc until after Heresy, I’m fine with the slow pace. 2024 into 2025 has so much games coming out, think they want players to take their time. Mylin said the SAME thing about the episodes and it’s like I get it this game is your job, but you have to think about this in a gamer perspective not job one. This is Elden Ring week and in a couple of months it’s broke Fall 🤣 you can come back to the game here or there, but episodes is the casual approach this time compared to seasons which I like. Rank up in comp, get your red borders, farm some strange coins, get your inventory up. You don’t have to grind this game 24/7

Timegating is really whats killing all the hype. They should really fix this before the next 2 drop

Im the opposite, I've gotten almost no seasonal red borders despite playing quite a bit and resetting Failsafe and gotten halfway to another. I got all the Pale Heart patterns quickly but the seasonal ones just aren't dropping, or focusing.

My only issue with the Episodes are the timegating. So tired of waiting each week for half an hour of content (without rushing it as I do like a story) only to be met with "Come back next week for the next part." I swear I read something from Bungie saying that you can play through an Act at your own pace without timegating outside of waiting for the next act.

Yes absolutely no difference from seasons. Final Shape was great but so far the episodes are lacking. If they do more big expansions I may get them, but episodes no more.

This season (episode whatever) is a total snoozefest, both storytelling and gameplay. I couldn’t be less interested in what the vex are doing tbh

The worst part is that only those 3 missions are coop focus, which means there's no reason to replay any of the other campaign missions whatsoever. With Lightfall and WQ the elective difficulty missions rotated weekly through the entire campaign.
