I think it's a good example of reskinning a weapon and making it better. Putting aside the discussion about whether or not we should be getting reskins in major expansions, it's a solid entry level Strand weapon and gives me hope for future Strand weapons throughout Year 6 as Strand gets more developed.

People are mad about the reskin, but it’s a very dramatic reskin so they barely look alike. Also, if we are being honest: is anyone really using the moon weapons? I couldn’t tell you the last time I used one. I don’t think it’s as big a deal as people are making it out to be.

Like sure we've had rough times in earlier D2 when basically every new hand cannon looked like better devils but eventually we started seeing newer models and patterns like the "something new" from solstice. Its literally the same model but it's a stasis 120 and it not only had unique perk combos but it took shaders in such a unique way that it was a night and day difference. People need to realize that the asset flipping saves alot of time and Bungie could argue that whenever we get guns with alot of stuff on them people just complain it gets in the way so the community will never be fully satisfied. I like seeing new gun models but sometimes it's a good thing to build off something simple. I mean look at all the hakke kinetic SMGs: they're all REALLY similar and tend to fall in the same archetypes but people don't complain about reskins they just say Antiope - D is back plus even when hakke aren't the best weapons they just look really clean and with them being built for the dark ages they look alot like modern weapons built to take ALL the attachments so I like seeing them put ALL THE ATTACHMENTS on them lol. Think about how crazy people went seeing the massive suppressor on the black armory reskin of it. ALL of the secondary weapons of that season were reskins but people didn't really care because they were good and looked cool. Similar situation with the different versions of the Ikelos weapons but they get ZERO cosmetic differences, just a version 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 type of change in the API as we get further in the dlcs. All that to say its not a bug deal people are always just looking for something to repeat for the sake of repeating without putting any thoughts behind it because they're hearing others say it so they assume its the right thing.

@@ShadowNemesis575 I’ve seen very few ppl complain ab the reskins idk ab u guys. Specifically for this dlc ofc. Also there certainly is much bigger things to complain ab. This dlc made some great changes to the sandbox and overall feel of the game plus strand is very fun. but dlc it’s self outside of strand was poorly written and mostly filler. I can’t yet make a full opinion on it cuz the raid hasn’t yet come out but so far it’s very mediocre.

I personally fell in love with the gun. Only thing I would change about it is making the firing sound closer to the Lullaby, something about that sound resembling slamming a hammer onto an anvil just resonates with me. That said, I actually crafted mine for PvE with Corkscrew, High-Cal, enhanced Keep Away and Hatchling with a stability masterwork. My reasoning was that if I‘m primarily using it in PvE, the extra stagger on minors would be more benificial than the extra stability of ricochet. Though, I‘m probably going to make a PvP roll with full range and ricochet, using Keep Away and probably Kill Clip. See how it goes.

Very in love with it. Nanotech Tracer Rockets is a great perk on a 120. It feels like free additional chip damage just for playing how you normally would with a 120. Crafted the following: - Fluted Barrel - Ricochet Rounds - Keep Away - Elemental Capacitor - Stability Masterwork I plan on crafting another roll with Keep Away + Kill Clip.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my Keep Away/Hatchling roll in PvP with all the Strand kit available in the artifact this season! Only does 40-45dmg after the headshot kill, but I’ve had many moments where it’s clutched up! Very fun even if it’s not meta.

I swear it has a lower drop chance than any other weapon. I ran the pub event and gold patrols for over 4 hours and managed to get a full pattern for the grenade launcher(I only had 1 to start) and 0 round robins, red border or otherwise.

I've had a lot of fun with this in PvE with subsistence tricorn. Enhanced subsistence reloads 2 into the mag on kill, tricorn is easy to get the max boost off with grapple melee, especially on hunter. I'm struggling with what barrel perk to put on it though, if I need more range or if I should go fluted.

I went with polygonal, Flared magwell, keep away and hatchling reload masterwork. It puts it at 77 reload with keep away active with a reloader mod, it reloads so fast, it makes having only 8 in the mag actually viable, especially with the threadings seeking out and killing enemies for me.

I crafted mine with fluted barrel, ricochet, enhanced keep away, enhanced elemental cap and range mw. I use it on a void subclass so i get 71 range, 62 stab, 41 handling with enhanced keep away, all these combine makes this gun illegal, an absolute banger it will never leave my hand..

I crafted a Ranged Intrinsic Hammerforged Rifling, Flared Magwell, Keep Away, Hatchling specifically for my warlock threadling build. It's incredibly fun alternative to Perpetualis/Rufus' Fury. I went Flared Magwell for the reload because the stats don't really matter unless the gun feels great to use and slow reload absolutely kills the flow of combat, especially in a fast moving threadling warlock build. may go Ricochet Rounds/Reload Instrinsic after a bit though just to see how it compares.

It is for sure an outlier and is better than igneous in some ways. Downside, needs ophidians or sacrifice range for fluted barrel on Titan and hunter. Upsides, far out, kill clip, nano rockets. The god roll is small bore, ricochet, far out, and kill clip with stability mw. That roll can 3 tap at 40m and 4 tap at 50m with the rocket clean up. Killing wind and perfect float are junk compared to far out. That perk alone makes this handcannon S tier. As far as pve goes, just no.

Great video, as always. It is easy to tell how much time and effort goes into these. Regarding round robin, I believe that to specifically compete at a high level with this handcannon (or not primarily in quickplay, let's just say), you should consider investing in more handling. I went with elemental to get a variety of stat-bumps to choose from. I also have an old crimil's dagger with kill clip and a cracked aim assist stat (higher than igneous) so I am a bit hesitant to go all in on a kc roll, but if I were to craft another one at some point then it would be that.

For my Round Robin: Fluted, Extended mag (Yes, I know it's only 2 reload, wait a sec), ENHANCED Subsistence, Hatchling, Minor Spec So, when you have at least 11 rounds in the magazine, and ENHANCED Subsistence, you get 3 bullets returned per kill. The Hatchling, if it goes off and kills something, then it will also return three bullets. And, if your micro rocket earns a kill, bam,, 3 bullets. Play it right, and you never have to reload. Most red bars in most content will go down in 3 bullets. If it takes more, that's what your special weapon is for. I think I'd much prefer this loadout in PvE though, for PvP, I'm definitely going Kill Clip + Keep Away

Big fan of 120s, I still run Igneous and True Proph seriously in PVP. I just love the more reserved playstyle. AND Finally a craftable 120 and it did not disappoint. Getting Keepaway and Elem Capacitor for this one, I'm spoiled by high Stability with 120s. Tried a few rolls for PVE with hatchling and it was fine, probably best run w a Threadling Warlock, but I might just make one with Kill-clip for both PVE/PVP

envious assassin is a wasted opportunity. it should give an increasing stat buff to the weapon while using the overflow rounds or something. so you get kills with another weapon, overflow the magazine, and switch to the round robin with envious assassin. you now have extra 5 rounds in the magazine with bonus range/stability or something. i think thatd be cool. it feels a little too weak rn but it could be like a weaker sturm kinda thing

Put an adept range mod on this bad boy with keep away and you have a permanent 100 range on it. 91 without keep away perk active. I run that with kill clip, hammerf/ricochet. Feels godlike.

I start worry about reload stat when I find hilarious that I can’t push forward on a nightfall cuz my reload was too slow the Minotaur shields were back at the time I finish reload

Did anyone else notice multiple times throughout the video where he was hitting guardians for 100 damage twice and they still had a notable amount of health left? Is there some kind of visual bug with the damage numbers, or have I been completely misunderstanding pvp health pools all this time?

Hatchling is really fun with the sniper and those boots. You kill an enemy or shoot a tangle from far away and you got additional threadlings applying unravel.

Would keep away and opening shot be redundant? Seems like it’s be the go to roll for 3v3 especially. But maybe keep away is enough on it’s own to make it feel super crisp so might as well take the damage buff from KC?
