Her laughing mother is Taox, the Osmium Traitor that betrayed their nation to the late "Helium Drinkers", as of today, no nobody knows her fate wether she survived or died by taking the cowards way out. The Smilingly Sister is Savathun the "Witch Queen".

I felt so bad for My Name Is Byf during this season. Apparently, he has thalassophobia (the fear of open oceans and its depths). That man was suffering through to make lore videos, especially in the dungeon. I ger it though since I have similar thing with spiders

This season is actually the first time we actually hear Xivu Arath for the first time very chilling

Killing Oryx and not taking his place as the Taken King is the ultimate insult to the Hive, each of them accepts that they might be crushed by their strong vanquish weak ideology, but it's fine as even the weakest thrall is playing their part in surpassing infinity, even if you die in the great game, you contributed to finding the single greatest being in the universe who will live after time has died itself and that's what matters. This is why the Hive, though they're inherently violent and deceitful beings, still deeply treasure familial relationships and truly have love for one another, though it seems twisted to us. Even when twisting the knife in each other's back, the intention is that it's being done to strengthen one another and thus viewed as loving act. When Aurash wanted to stop their early genocidal ways in favor of compromise with the Ammonites after leaving Fundament, Sathona betrayed and killed her to remind her of their purpose. When the Hive sisters realized the Worm Gods deceived them and had to fight back somehow, Oryx killed his sisters to bask in their strength and become powerful enough to kill his own god, Akka, resurrecting the two as Hive Gods later. When Crota was fooled into unleashed the Vex in his Throne realm, Oryx banished his son through time where Crota initially pouted and hated his father as teens do, but soon grew to respect and love his father for punishing him so harshly as he'd grown strong and wise as a result. If we had killed Oryx and took his place Xivu Arath would have welcomed us as a sibling, it's not that we killed her brother, it's that we spit on everything they stood for and sacrificed by not becoming the apex being in the universe and picking up where Oryx left off, instead letting that throne sit empty, one built on from the eradication of thousands of advanced civilizations and on the bones of billions who were killed by the Hive. Add to that Savathun abandoning the way of the hive and becoming remade in the Light and it's clear why Xivu is unraveling, everything she believes is being ripped from her and she's desperate to prove that their path is still the right one.

The irony is that Xivu is showing the hypocrisy in her thinking. She should love The Guardian, because they have the power to succeed DESPITE rejecting her philosophy. So in rejecting it and still winning, they are showing their power to stand on their own, which she should love as part of the Sword Logic. But instead she hates them, which shows she doesn't truly believe, unlike Oryx.

Those messages of Xivû Arath were meant for her brother, Oryx. The "gift" her sister, Savathûn, gave her was a summoning to Torobatl, the Cabal homeworld. One of the reasons why the Cabal Red Legion (Ghaul) wanted to steal the Traveler from humanity in the first place.

Right off the bat, that one Guardian went into the Imaterium ;) This is a 40k reference, to when you try to enter the *Warp* without a Gellar field(reality-shield). Also in a recovered loretab, his last momments was his memory mixed with the Traveller's memory of the Golden Age, and his own back before he was resurrected as a Light-bearer. Pretty much a new way of experienceing your life flashing before your eyes.

Best part of this season was finding out we were moments away from a revived taken king, Oryx wielding the light is a terrifying concept Edit: ok, they didn’t show shit for the dungeon, so the part with xivu ranting is probably confusing, but those were audio logs inside an activity where we delve into a large hive ritual, we find out at the end they were trying to force a ghost to resurrect Oryx, but we stop it, figured they’d at least show a little bit of the encounters

@trypticon8619 Yeah, I think the KZbinrs that normally would be recording destiny in action oriented content have lost interest in grinding for a few weekly character Dialoge. Unfortunately, I don't really don't see any more renewed YT quality destiny footage any time soon, especially after a few glaring decisions made in Final Shape.

So the dialog that you were hearing from Xivu Arath around the middle part of the video was from the dungeon activity that came with the season. She stored the audio logs in calcified fragments just like Oryx did on the Dreadnought. The dungeon is called Ghosts of the Deep and it is known amongst the player base as the longest and arguably the most difficult dungeon to complete as each encounter has a lot of mechanics that need to be completed to advance and the two bosses for the last two encounters have enormous pools of health. The last two encounters have hive guardians as bosses whom we've actually seen before; Echtar Shield of Savathun (The Taken King DLC as Echtar Sword of Oryx) and Simmumah Ur Nokru The Lucent Necromancer, whom we kill when we go to kill Nokris in the Warmind dlc as an unassuming wizard. It was a pretty big reveal when we made it to the third encounter as we see Simmumah trying to have a hive ghost resurrect Oryx as a Hive Guardian as we never heard about Oryx's body after we killed him. But this also showed us how desperate the Lucent Hive were getting at this point without Savathun's guidence. As for Xivu Arath, she seems to be having an existential crisis of sorts based on the audio from the calcified fragments. The darkness has seemingly failed her siblings, her brother was killed by the Light in the form of the bomb logic and her sister has defected to the Light. To be honest I don't blame her for feeling this way as she and her siblings have existed before our solar system even formed, all they have known is the darkness and it has failed both of her siblings. She's all alone with no brother or sister, but she feels that there's no turning back at this point, either she succeeds or the darkness fails her too, like it did with both of her siblings.

Glad you guys got to season of the deep. (I personally like this season more than the others) This season was the first season we hear Xivu arath in game. It shows in the video but any time she speak the subtitles are capitalized. Though she is a god of war for the Hive. As always notes for this season. (Will try to keep this one short) Note 1: Asha is a proto worm (Basically a worm god before being corrupted by the darkness) she managed to escape being corrupted through the ascendant planes. Note 2: Sloane wasnt with us when the cabal became our allies. Note 3: During the dungeon when the guardian is picking up those lore Xivu Arath is describing her triumphs to Oryx. At the end of this comment will try to pin point what she is describing it. Note 4: Hope you remember the 2 lies and 2 truths during witch queen (The taken king will rise again) Immaru (Savathun's ghost) was trying to have Oryx be revived. Note 5: The last time you guys saw Oryx was during a recap video of D1. When the guardians killed him during the raid (Kings fall) his body drifted off into space. There is a lot of speculation on how his body landed on titan. Thats the last of the notes. Next part will answer questions and clarify a few things. They also end it when talking to a loved one) 6 ( 24:27 ) She talking about the red war 7 ( 25:05 ) Shes talking about how she crumbled toribottle (Cabal's home world) 8 ( 25:35 ) When Savathun died before recieving the light (Right before witch queen 9 ( 26:03 ) I think this is when Season of plunder happens though im not quite sure 10 ( 26:30 ) Xivu's brief thoughts on the final shape. 11 ( 27:05 ) Season of Seraph when Xivu was trying to overwhelm the last city with the ascendant plane but failed since Rasputin sacrificed himself to save the traveler. 12 ( 27:39 ) Xivu's last thoughts towards Oryx.

Xivu Arath's voice actor in Japanese is SO extra its amazing lmao. English VA is amazing too, I just like playing the game in other languages on occasion and Japanese is extremely based

This is also the season we started get Veil Contiament logs 1 week at a time until season ends you should listen to those logs it gives more insight to the traveler and Veil. Cheers!

I think one time when this season came out. I actually had a nightmare or a dream if you're a destiny fan, of myself encountering Xivu Arath in a dark cave and she yelled out "I am War, and you have conjured me back with War!" Like a gamer nerd with foresight, I ran from her because I felt like it would too early to one-shot her this early in the campaign and as a Hive god of War, she feeds off of *conflict* . Eventually I woke up from being too happy from this unforgettable event.

Yeah I thought they would show more of the dungeon. But in that final room you see a large hive wizard and a hive ghost trying to resurrect Oryx. The lucent Hive at this point don’t have much in terms of leaders, a few contenders in terms of power but none of them could really match Savathun. That’s why they wanted to resurrect Oryx. Xivu and the rest of the hive are pissed at us. Not just for killing but for not taking his place. It’s an insult in there messed up sword logic. The strongest will surpass infinity and we killed there strongest, but didn’t take his place and continue the killing to become beyond infinity.
