You can get the exotic tonics by making multiple legendary ones, it's not Garunteed and you don't unlock a recipe however I got the Asendant Alloy Tonic from making a whole bunch of legendary ones

Play your 30 minutes of story, grind 20 hours of onslaught until you get a roll on a weapon you can settle on since you can’t craft weapons, make some potions until you realize there’s nothing else until the dungeon then head to the forums to call bungie washed, there saved you all 13 minutes

How to tonics: Go to the mixing table Pick a green quality tonic to mix A hidden counter for that tonic goes up by one When the counter on that tonic reaches 5, the blue quality recipe for that tonic unlocks (Presumably, the blue quality recipe also has a hidden 5 counter, which unlocks the purple quality recipe) To note: Picking a tonic to mix immediately consumes the ingredients for it. You may find it easier to imagine as if you are grabbing a bottle and throwing all of the ingredients in, right then and there. Going to the cabinet and fiddling with the mixer is all just for show, you have already "spent" the required items. You only get the finished product once you perform the "Infuse with Light" step of the process.

From my effort, I was able to unlock 7 minor fieldworks and 3 majors. Wasn’t able to get enough recipes (stuck at 21) to unlock an 8th minor fieldwork which requires 24 recipe unlocks. Hope this helps before you go wasting any more materials than necessary

@@DioStandProud just did 50 waves. It's actually easier than the old mode. More enemies, but none of those stupid bombers or bombs. So you can really lose from stupid objectives at wave 40+. Also any builds that is for hordes does wonders. Infinite cold snap (warlock) and void tether super (hunter). Quite hard to lose now.

If you want gear apparently you can farm Dul incaru (shattered throne boss) or first contact end cp before the pods to get seasonal with tonics every 2-3 minutes instead of playing onslaught for 40 minutes to an hour. Although if you want tonic ingredients onslaught is still the best farm method for those.

@@Salmontres See I can't really argue against people that stuck it out till now because I left right after Forsaken dropped (I'm not in the wider community, that DLC was abysmal especially when you retroactively compare it to something like Final Shape) and didn't return until Season of the Witch was in its fourth week and ever since I have been hooked because it feels like Bungie finally gave me what I wanted (solo player content galore with dungeons, legendary campaigns, fireteam finder, juicy lore tabs) and I've been glued to it ever since as if it was The Taken King era all over again.

@khakishd I agrre with the sentiment of those who feel the tonic system is just 'off' it wouldve been much better without it or the times its usage are restricted to thats not going entice players to use them really(initially maybe but i dont see it longer term)... the weapons are ok and the story shows promise but it has to hold audiences engagement but the tonic system is pure filler aimed at playability and player retention so that may hurt it a bit

Quick note, I have been running some nightfalls and onslaughts and I have been using Wicked Implement and running anti barrier scout on the artifact, BUT for some reason it will not work. Other scout rifles like the new Live Fire works but Wicked Implement will not. Don't know if this is a bug or not.

quite simple, it is not a bug, you just can't have a weapon able to stun all 3 champs. I had the same question last year and this was my logical conclusion

@@zacharyabenante1814 technically on prismatic since you can proc radiant easily you should be able to make it works. Because from what I tested the limitation only exists when the gun has 2 intrinsic anti champs capabilities and you want to add an artefact perk on top of it. Using verbs such as radiant should counter this. Using arcan needle is best .
