Certainly not all titans share this grim sense of duty, but I think it's something incredible that almost every titan doctrine has this idea of "choose where your last stand will be, and in that moment, make your enemy regret their choice to push you to that point." A striker or a sunbreaker chooses where they want to stand and fight until they are felled for good, and a defender selects a 6 foot radius which they will make the enemy pry from their cold dead hands. Do titans think about this? Do they walk around and wonder when they'll have to give it all and die their final death, inherently accepting the fact that the day will come eventually? Or do they act as though every fight is their last? As a warlock, I will never know.

As a titan main i speak only for myself on this i fight knowing that there may be a chance i won't return, I fight not only for myself but for those i know and care for and protect those who are peaceful with their light and people who are afraid to fight. I fight for them so they can feel safe. I fight because I care for any who can't fight nor have the heart to do it themselves. However though the hunter part of me also says I enjoy hunting those who thinks they can get away with anything because they think they are stronger or more omniscient and in many cases I find it as a challenge who is the smarter hunter. I don't really get into the warlock but when I do I think of one reason why I would want to fight and that is to test my knowledge of understanding of each of the classes and see if i am wrong or test any new tricks I can come up with and fit it into my style

The first time I started playing a Titan I just thought this: "Who do I fight and why? Who do I protect and how?" That's literally the only reason for playing Destiny or being a Guardian. Fight for something greater than myself. My last stand, though? I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Last Stand Thinking about Sentinels using imagery for their Ward of Dawn makes me, as a Titan main, unbelievably sad. Thinking about the thing we not only do not have, but also failed to protect and physically creating a reminder of it does come off as a powerful form of symbolism.

I started Destiny with a Titan, all the way from the D1 Beta. I have more fun on it than the other 2 classes, not that they are bad, but just don't suit my specific style of fighting. I still have my very first Titan profile and will never delete it, and defender is actually my favorite subclass. I hope Saint-14 is indeed in the Osiris DLC.

My friends and I (the ones that are diehard lore fans like me, anyway) have a theory about the relationship of all three classes to the way the City functions: Titans are both the first and last line of defense, the standing army that protects when none others can. The Hunters are just that: hunters, scavenging for parts, resources, and, when needed, food. The Warlocks are the scholars, teachers, and scientists, developing and experimenting with new ways to manipulate Light. This is how the Rift gametype was formed: A Voidwalker was tinkering with a Nova Bomb, seeing how far they could compress it, and it eventually formed the Spark we see in Rift. Edit: On a side note, how do we know the Speaker isn't an Exo himself? If they can wear helmets, why would they not be able to wear a mask like the Speaker does? It would somewhat explain why he doesn't tell us anything: he himself cannot remember.

The Tower needs its Titans. That fact is irrefutable. Hunters and Warlocks alone could not have held the Wall in the Battle of the Six Fronts. Therefore, it would have fallen apart without Titans (i.e. it would "be nothing" without them). I think that's what he was trying to say. The proud history of the Titans makes them practically synonymous with the Wall itself. Not saying the other classes don't do their parts, but... let's face it, understanding the Light would "be nothing" without Warlocks, the Frontier would "be nothing" without Hunters, and well, the Wall would "be nothing" without the Titans. Accepting our strengths and classes should help us work together, not drive us apart.

Awoken Guardians name themselves the moment they are asked who they are, by their Ghost or anyone else. This behaviour is unique to their race alone, most likely due to their special connection to the Light and the Dark. For example, Orin, Sunbreaker, said that the reason she chose that specific name was "instinct" driven by something as deep as bone marrow. For human and Exo Guardians, the names are as you said, likely either earned or given. I don't remember any examples of human or Exo Guardians naming themselves. However, I do remember the lore from Stronghold gauntlets describing a Warlord who called herself "the Wake". The narrator of the lore piece said that they couldn't take anyone who called themselves the Wake seriously. This implies that Guardians other than Awoken ones do in fact name themselves or have their names given to them.

Honestly activision should have you on their payroll. If it wasn't for you, I would have lost interest in Destiny a long time ago. The rather meager presentation of the base story, and total lack of presenting the extra background story was sad. But with your research, video capture, and well worded presentation of the expansive backstory, as well as sidestory, I have been able to enjoy the game, and remain interested in the upcoming Destiny 2. I'm glad I finally took the time to donate via patreon, and whenever I scrounge up the money to get a current gen console, I'll be able to enjoy Destiny 2 with much greater appreciation thanks to your efforts. I always imagined the Titans at the battle of six fronts using the first bubble shield in a connected way.(What I'm trying to say is this: instead of multiple bubbles overlapping on top of the wall, the Titans used void energy to make a giant "blanket" of void light covering the entire wall.) The way it's depicted in your comic(I love the comics! I completely understand how much time and effort they take!) doesn't make sense to me. Why would the fallen shoot their main cannons at the Titans on top of the wall instead of firing on the wall itself?

My progress: D1 2 months after it was released: -hunter (i was naive, brave, proud, ambitious, curious) i didn't have an understanding of the lore or the universe i liked exploring and getting in trouble in pvp D1 ttk expansion -warlock (i had an understanding of the lore and subclasses i was very interested in the world of destiny, theories and overall knowledge of the game, i had gamesense and i was becoming wiser) -as a warlock i hated titans and i was thinking about them as being dumb, straightforward and not thinkers like warlocks as myself D2 24.10 (pc release) i meet myelin's channel trying to have an even better understanding -i was still a warlock but became wiser as time passed -i didn't want to learn about the titans (i was ignorant... the irony is that i was thinking about titans as ignorant but i was worse from that perspective) -i'm thinking about my hate of titans derived from fear and lack of understanding so i try and educate myself -in the end i see the video and find out that the defender titan is the best for me. after i understood my hate transformed in appreciation and respect... thx myelin games... i love your work... it has changed me.

Yeah, when in my personal best Skirmish match, I was a Shadow of death as a Bladedancer and the Defender with me was a wall between me and our foes. The enemy exhausted themselves at his wall and I struck with a blade of annihilating current.
