Side note for those who don't know. When doing the Dark Beyond mission, make sure you do NOT kill the knight at the beginning. Kill everything else and let the knight kill you that way it will reset with a fresh door open. If you kill the knight, you will have to orbit to reset it.

I can tell you guys you do NOT need to do Crota's Fist. Just go to the starting area of the devils lair strike and go in a circle killing the hive and fallen over and over again. SO MANY TIMES the blade of crota has come and I've gotten the husk of the pit TWICE!!! I wasn't even trying to get the gun I was just doing patrol missions and doing bounties and I got it today and the day before.

Same thing as you had to do in year 1, you just don't need an Embalming Orb. 1: Aquire the Husk of the Pit from the Blade of Crota in the mission 'Fist of Crota' 2: Kill around 500 hive with Husk of the Pit 3: Upgrade (for free) to Eidolon Ally 4: Grind out Crota's End on hard mode each week until you're lucky enough to get the Crux of Crota to drop 5: Upgrade Eidolon Ally to Necrochasm

Can anyone explain to me how we are supposed to get some of the older legendary armor and weapons that existed before the DLC released? I really wanted to try Shadow Price but I can't buy it anymore because the DLC weapons are taking up all of the slots. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere so I would appreciate feedback! Thanks!

The 3 faction vendors and Lord Saladin still have their old gear. The Vanquisher VII Auto Rifle from New Monarchy has very similar stats to Shadow Price, and has some decent perks for both PvE and PvP.

pouya bijan faraji it's just doing bounties twice. Sign on a few minutes b4 reset. Be in tower when the counter resets. Collect bounties, then finish them, then turn them in. Don't sign off or switch characters. After you turn them in, then you log out and back in. Bounties will be there again.

Talking about crushing your excitement. Kept building it up and up, and then when you heard, "beat Crota on hard." Then it faded away. Then again, idk, even when I had Atheon's Epilogue during multiplayer, it barely did anything for me, not sure if the same would go for this. I'll still try, but unless it does impress me, I might have to stay with an upgraded version of Suros Regime or maybe a new New Monarchy gun

Ahhhh I see. I found that "Husk of the Pit" on patrol on the cosmodrome, after killing one of the blades of Crota's Knights, just 30 mins after the update. Some thoughts about the video. The husk now drops as a white engram. I was farming and blew myself up and a white engram dropped. I resplendent and picked it up. It was the husk. Also at this moment in time you don't need and embalming orb.

I just got 2 of these after fighting the sword bearers on earth! I killed 3 of them and didn't realize I got them till I turned in my bounties to leval a few guns. Believe it or not, that's your choice. I couldn't believe my luck either. Sure glad I don't have to keep switching the gun between my titan and warlock XD

I've played the fist of crota mission on normal 20 times and gotten nothing, then I switched to hard mode on the mission and got it in two tries. The difficulty matters I tested this out. If you are a low level I would suggest doing it with friends.

I had my eye set on that Eidolon Ally, so I went Swordbearer hunting in the Cosmodrome. My friend decided to tag along, he is level 9, while I am just barely a 28. Once we finally found a Swordbearer, he took one shot at the thing and fled, leaving me to kill it. My bastard friend bagged Husk of the Pit, and I got nothing. Time for another hunt.

I got two of husks and made one into a "Necrochasm". It is an extremely rare drop. Don't feel so bad if you don't get it because the gun isn't as good as it looks especially for an exotic. I got one while killing fallen on earth where the good old loot cave was. And I got another one while playing "The Devil's Lair"

Alex McLean You get the crux by doing Crota's end on hard mode which came out wednesday. My brother and I got it the same day and both of us have Necrochasm. Many people don't want to deal with doing all the work to upgrade the husk. So I suggest they don't because it's not as good as most guns you can just buy from Xur or find in the crucible.

To get The Husk of the Pit, the difficulty setting does not matter. I've gotten the Husk while playing on Normal. I didn't have enough room on me to hold it, but it was waiting for me in the Tower.

Are there any other common (white) weapons in Destiny that you can upgrade like the Husk of the Pit? I saw a white auto rifle drop as reward in the crucible once. It was the first time I saw a common weapon as a reward and I didn't think anything of it, but after seeing this weapon with the ability to upgrade to an Exotic made me think there could be others!

I got husk of the pit on my 6th attempt on easy mode but it laughably only had 80 attack. I really had a rough time getting them 500 hive kills.
