A pointer for people who have multiple guardians to level up: Focus exclusively on one guardian and level up your Year 3 Rise of Iron book. Every 2 levels you get a package that provides gloves then legs, ghost, chest, and finally helm at 350 light for all 3 guardians; with the exception of the ghost which rolls at 340. So by leveling the book up with one guardian you automatically bring your other 2 up to 350 without touching them.

Pro Tip: Decrypt FIRST your legendary and exotic items for gear that are the MOST BELOW your current overall Light score. So if your overall light score is 348 and your lowest item is 345 (say boots) then that's the FIRST engram you decrypt because it will give you the GREATEST bump towards the next light level.

I've been playing for about 6 hours straight. I did the arhon forge about 11 times and I spent well over 40,000 glimmer, 200 ether seeds, 200 Motes of light, and 100s of armor and Weapon Parts in order to purchase about 5 vendor packages, also I decrypted about 37 legendary engrams, and 4 exotic engrams and all of that only brought be from 354 to 355 light.

Something also noteworthy: If you have 150 Legendary Marks, pick up a Ghost Shell and a piece of armor from a vendor for 75 apiece. They both come at 350, so that's an instant, large jump to your Light. If you were smart and saved up engrams before Rise of Iron launched, make sure you buy your 350 gear before you start decrypting.

Wouldnt the leapfrogging thing work just as well if you just stuck the same character? I must be missing something because the way i see it is that you are only acquiring one set of level 385 light gear in each case that would then be used to farm gear for the other character. Six in one and half a dozen in the other sort of thing.

Here's a little tip: the max light level for blue engrams (so far) is 340 ( I haven't received anything higher in blue engrams)

What I found to be the fastest way was Archeon's Forge. I just go there and start it up, after a little bit randoms come and join me and we keep popping SIVA offerings one after another. With 4+ people in there at all times at least one of us always drops an offering, keeping the cycle going. After a couple of hours of non-stop forging I had gained 11 light and had at least 50 blue and purple engrams to get me even higher. AND it's way more efficient than grinding strikes as one round in the forge takes less than 10 minutes.

the only problem with leapfrogging is you have to have all your characters near the same light starting and it depends if you want to take time or have time to get them all there...

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!! Buy a 350 ghost (75 glimmer), then buy class item FROM SPEAKER (60 glimmer), then do the daily, return to Tower buy an armor piece and then finally decrypt your engrams!

Don't know guys. I had a vault full of exotic and legendarys engrams and on all 3 classes. I edged everything I could and didnt open shax bounties (still dropped some gear) . I also have used around a 1000 motes of light and around 1000 heavy in factions. Im only at 558 light. Clearly he has found a way to level insanley fast. We need to find it out!

You didn't mention anything about buying vendor gear, they are at 350, hence you can jump straight to the high 340s just by buying their gear. This does take a lot of legendary marks, circa 600 for armour/ghost and another 600 for weapons.

I was 351 light 2 hours after Rise of Iron launched (4 if you count the 2 hours of server problems) Bought all 350 vendor gear, got the new Iron Banner class item, my Iron Lords Artifact and a vendor Ghost. Saved up all my TTK engrams the last couple of weeks and dismantled all my old useless Legendary gear to cap my marks multiple times. Kind of stuck at 351 Light at the moment. The Heroic Siva Strike list is filled with 340 light players that die every 10 seconds...so no new gear for me at the moment. Keep getting 352-354 Light gear occasionally. Will try again tonight though.

I'm 349 and haven't gotten a single blue engram to decrypt over 340. The blue already decrypted strike items are over 340, but no blue engrams.

Same here with the blue 340. I was able to get up to 351 with Faction packages and legendary engrams. Haven't opened any exotic engrams yet but I've read that the will incrementally level you up to 385. That will probably take a lot of exotics though.

Hi Rick, i wish i had of found your channel earlier, great vids!. i have a question....i played Destiny from just after release in year 1 up until House of Wolves and i played a little of The Taken King.....I ended up selling the game because i didn't have the time to play but mainly because i was unhappy with the fact that year 1 gear/weapons were locked at year 1 levels and couldn't be infused and due to some other changes to the game. I have the time to play again and despite my issues with some of Bungies decisions I really miss playing Destiny, so want to buy it again. Because there is so much new content would it be better for me to start my characters again?? i would do one at a time and make sure any weapons or armour that was still good was stored in the vault before i deleted my character. whats your opinion?

I don't understand why its necessary to switch characters after getting raid gear and giving it to them via infusion. I mean yeah they get stronger but then your first character is as weak as he was going in? As you get new gear and infuse it to new characters the character you got it on will go back to the previous light level, so I dont see the benefit. Someone please explain this. Idk if Im missing something here or is Kackis didnt explain it right

it is essentially making it so in one week you have a character at ~380 light first week instead of 3 characters at ~350 light. so then the next week you start with your 380 then doing the same method you will have 3 ~385 characters instead of (as in video) 3 ~370 characters

Okay I kind get it but if you say infuse 355 boots from one character to give the other 335 boots, then if you played on the first again you'd need a spare pair of boots to infuse back into. this seems like it would burn legendary marks and legendary armor quickly. however if you were say all 350 and then you get a legendary boots to drop 335 and infuse them into blue boots making them 335 and then keep switching back and forward using blues it wouldn't be a big deal. but then where's the line that you stop doing that at

Good advice Kackis, but unfortunately gear and weapons DO NOT always drop even when doing a Raid. Which is one thing I cannot stand about this game. In TTK's Fallen King, I always got boots and one time got gauntlets and a couple of weapons and that was it! After that I never did that stupid raid because it wasn't worth the time.
