People tend not to notice drummers, but once you pick up on how good Haruna is, you really appreciate everything she does. I was lucky enough to catch one of her drumsticks at the second London show this year, and you can tell that it took a real beating! But then, everyone in Lovebites is amazing at what they do, so they can't afford a weak link, and there are certainly no passengers in this band!

I was looking forward to your reaction all day at work and once I got home you did not disappoin! ❤ Saw them live 3 times this year, twice in tiny (about 400 in each one) clubs in Europe in the 1st row with no stage-rails and once at the Tokyo Garden Theatre event (about 7,500). Aside from a big stage production at home you could not tell the difference how they excecute their songs. These ladies work insanely hard at their craft, they are very talented as well as humble & down to earth and they actually enjoy meeting fans. Trust me: I have done a few meets & greets and Lovebites is different in that department, too. p.s.: Miyako's piano recital was on 10/20/2024 and it was recorded, so we can hope for a DVD/Bluray release sometime next year. However, to shorten the wait... well, I will tell you in our round of next coffee. 😜

Miyako wrote this as an anthem for the band. Initially the working title was "Lovebites". She has said she was nervous about presenting it to the rest of the band because she worried is wasn't good enough. Like Jens, many people were hooked by this song. Shadowmaker had gotten the world's attention, and this song just melted what was left of people's minds.

Greetings from Germany and thanks guys for another great reaction. One thing I'd like to point out about the entire concert this was taken from is how it impresses me that they kept up their momentum throughout the show considering the circumstances. This concert was under Covid-restrictions, so the people in the audience were not allowed to cheer or sing along, which is why you only hear clapping in between the songs. I own the BlueRay, and watching the show with hardly a sound from the audiance made for quite an eerie atmosphere. Yet, the ladies and especially Asami bravely kept it up, which I find super impressive.

It's very entertaining watching your reactions to Lovebites songs, thanks for that. Your reactions bring me back the feelings I experienced when I first found this band about 4 years ago. They played fresh heavy metal that have strong roots in the "metal music's golden years" in the eighties but not copying it. My first song was this "When Destinies Align", which YT:s algorithm offered me. Not this recording, it was from the "Five of the Kind" concert in 2020 in Tokyo. From the first listening my soul was sold. I am over 70 now, but I have never before bumped to a band which have no bad songs and Lovebites have no bad songs. They have good, excellent, and some really masterpieces. Now I have all their concert Blu-rays and last summer I traveled to Germany to see them live in Lindau. Almost every day in some situations I listen to their music. BTW: This concert of "Ride for Vengeance " tour in Tokyo 2021 ("Spellbound" also from that same concert) was the last recorded concert where Miho played bass in Lovebites. Note also that Miyako was about four months pregnant in that concert.

Yes, every time I listen to Lovebites songs - and even more so when I watch the big shows - one thought comes up again and again: why is the world so unfair? So much talent and ability, spread across just five musicians (knowing full well that talent also comes with thousands and thousands of hours of hard training and practice, practice, practice). Lovebites is truly a great band and they've all been part of different bands. Miho and Haruna was part of Destrose, Miyako was part of 21g and Midori was part of a 3 piece band as the sole guitarist (along with drummer and singer). Asami was a backing singer, who was into R&B before joining Lovebites so they are great mixture of talent. Haruna has been playing at that tempo for years and probably generally fitter (is that word?) than Midori is after a tour

Keep them coming! ❤ They have become my favorite band, but I will say, they don’t always make great songs but even their worst songs are better than 80% of the music out there. I have a playlist consisting of about 40% of their songs. Just imagine a band that has about 4 or 5 albums and you have 40% of their songs in your daily rotation! As great as Metallica is, and even with their great volume of work, I don’t even have 7 songs, from them, in my daily rotation. That should say something. You’ve already done a few of my favorite Lovebites songs, but i can’t wait for you to do my absolute favorite, MDO! And when you do, I hope you do the live version of it! Great reaction. This was one of the first Lovebites songs I heard and man did the solo section ever blow me away! This is a great live version of this song, but I think the one from Five of a Kind might be even better. Also it's pretty crazy that one would play this as a concert opener. I also have to mention that I really like the theatricality and grace Asami brings to the band. She is a trained dancer and has great control of her body.

First time I heard this song from them was the music video, and it is themed in a samurai battle style, showing dramatic shots of the band in armor, and swords, and looking so badass. And it left me hanging cause the song is how it is, and the video is how it was and there wasn't a sword fight at the end of the video!!! lol It got me so pumped for an action scene afterwards, I had to throw on one of my favorite cheesy action movies to feel fully satisfied. Great choice for the opening of a concert, since the battle that is the concert just begins. Side note on the drummer. Heard Haruna and Akane from Band-Maid went to a noodle shop together, and just stacked bowls with how much the two ate. Just looking at this song? Yeah, the calorie needs track.

I have that exact USA Miyako Signature Dean V. It's a solid beast for sure. This was the first song where M & M totally blew me away. I think it was the second song I herd from them after seeing a Holy War reaction video which introduced me to them. It was the music video I saw first (which I feel does the song a bit more justice). Lovebites are relentless with speed, and their technical wizardry shines every single time.

I also advise you to watch the Music Video 'When Destinies Align' (2019), which announced the release of the LP 'Electric Pentagram'. Then you will understand why at the beginning of this video on the curtain closing the stage, the ladies were depicted in armor and with weapons of samurai of the 17th century (The 'Sengoku' period - 'Warring Provinces Period'). The song 'When Destinies Align' is thematically connected to other songs of the 'Electric Pentagram' Album ('Thunder Vengeance', 'Holy War', 'Swan Song', etc.). All the songs of this LP are united by the common name 'Electric Pentagram'. Аlthough there is no song with this name on the Album. Miho is the 500+ metal tees and the bobble head metal head original. M&M practice together away from the band and chase perfection all the while pushing and influencing each other. *Miho* is *on fire* here (the female musical "twin" of Steve Harris) contributing big to LOVEBITES' sound, stage presence and live show vibe, and I personally imagine that she still "belongs" to LOVEBITES and on stage. Like *Iron Maiden* became a six-member-band due to circumstances (Bruce's absence 1993 to 1999, Adrian's absence 1989 to 1999), I can very well imagine, that also LOVEBITES become a six-member-band in days to come. It also worked for "Helloween United", with their three guitarists and their two main singers (after the absence of their lead singer Michael Kiske from 1993 - 2017), so why not. ​@@metalmark1214 Personally, I learned about flowers in 2020 when I first watched the concert 'Five of a Kind - Live in Tokyo 2020'. Remember the beginning of the song 'Thunder Vengeance', when the heads of 5 Wolves of different colors appear on the curtain? 🤔If you look at the location of the Wolves' heads and compare them with the location of the ladies on stage during concerts (starting in 2019), you can easily determine which color corresponds to which member of the band. Moreover, we know that the name 'Midori' is translated (one of the options) from Japanese as 🟢'Green'. And we see where the green Wolf's head is located - in the upper left corner, which corresponds to Midori's place on stage. Further, in the first row (from left to right), there is a red 🔴Wolf head (Asami's place) and a blue 🔵Wolf head (Miyako's place). A little lower and to the right, next to the green 🟢Wolf head (Midori's place) is a purple 🟣Wolf head (this is Miho's place / now this is Fami's place). It's interesting that you say Midori and Miyako could be the superstar in their own band because, well, they tried that. Midori was in a band called Gekijo Metalicche while Miyako was in two bands, A Drop of Joker and 21g (the latter is pronounced 21 grams). I believe both Gekijo Metalicche and A Drop of Joker came to an end in 2015 or 2016, the same as a another band, Destrose. Destrose had a *ton* of membership changes over the years but didn't put out much content, but the reason I bring them up is because their third and final bass guitarist was Miho and their second drummer was Haruna. All four were effectively out of the music scene, but having known each other from the Japanese rock and metal festival scene, they decided to get together and play, as Miho once put it, "The music we grew up listening to." They just needed a singer. As it so happened, Asami's solo career wasn't gaining any traction and she was dissatisfied being a backup singer for other acts (the earliest footage I've seen of Asami is of her singing at Budokan for a group called Uverworld on Christmas 2011), so she released a vocal demo of her singing a rock song, "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm. That demo found its way to Miho, they brought Asami in, and the Halestorm song was the first song they all played together. Obviously they named themselves after the song, too, and it's one of three cover songs they've recorded. The only version they've released is on the CD live release "Invitation to the Theater," and I've uploaded it on my meager channel if you're curious. Miyako was originally brought in as a support member only, and for one show, there was a sixth member, Sena, who played guitar. There's no video of the performance with Sena, but from what little I've been able to find, Sena and Miyako took turns on stage. I've never heard why it didn't work with Sena or if it was even supposed to, she may have been a hired gun. Anyway, back to this song, the reason Asami says "This is us" at the beginning of this performance is because the song is about the five ladies getting together and forming the band. Lyrically this is my favorite song from LOVEBITES, especially the second verse that says, "it is failure that has brought us here, it is made of our blood and tears," clearly referencing those past bands and careers that didn't go anywhere. For the record, 21g (the only one of those previous groups I actually like) broke up in 2019. Miyako was in another group, a duo called Sonic Lover Reckless. They put out one video, "Phoenix," which features Miyako and the singer, Aya, wearing tight black vinyl catsuits and Miyako playing a seven-string guitar. SLR was only active for a brief period of time and I believe only played one show, though they released it on DVD. Leda, one of Babymetal's stalwarts in the Eastern Kami Band, played live support and Miho and Midori visited Miyako backstage.

Miyako was the leader of A DROP OF JOKER. - 21G - from 2014 to March 8, 2019 (last concert with Miyako) - SONIC LOVER RECKLESS - from 2017 to December 2018. In 2017 - 2018, Miyako was simultaneously a member of 21G, SONIC LOVER RECKLESS and LOVEBITES From late spring - early summer 2016 until August 2017, Miyako was officially not a permanent member of LOVEBITES. The band onsisted of 4 ladies ( Miho, Haruna, Midori and Asami) . Miyako was a support musician (for the recording of the first EP, first LP and live concerts 2016 -2017) Midori was the leader of GEKIJO METALICCHE from 2013 (the moment the band was created) until February 2016 (the band ceased to exist) Before Haruna, the drummers of DESTROSE were Mari (in 2007 ; later she created MARY'S BLOOD), Emi (2009 - 2011) and Nana (2011). In December 2014, at her last concert with DESTROSE in Tokyo, Haruna announced that she was leaving the music industry (she was planning to get married and etc.). Before LOVEBITES, Asami collaborated (backing vocals, support choir) with a large number (about 15) of famous Japanese and Korean singers and bands. Miho continued to play in DESTROSE before the band's disbandment (July 2015 - last concert). Then Miho played (as a support bassist / guest) with metal bands such as ESTRELLA (in 2015), MOTH IN LILAC (in 2015 - 2016), COMA COUNTESS (in 2016-2017). In late spring - early summer 2016, Miho created her own band, which later became known as LOVEBITES. Moreover, the music press called LOVE BITES a Supergroup : - "THE LOVEBITES EP. The first "girls' metal" Supergroup keep things nice and heavy with their debut release. LOVEBITES are the first Supergroup to emerge from Japan's 'girls metal' scene. For me this song, however the music video, was also the first one i ever heared and saw from Lovebites. At that moment however i was not already the biggest fan of Asamis voice since i was just a symphonic metal fan and loved singers like Floor, Simone, Sharon. Then people suggest me to listen the "E-songs", and since then i was totally in love with them. Oh and since you just said the thing about "maybe country music", what i really wished is some accoustic stuff with spanish guitars, just like the middle part of "Frozen Serenade". I mean Miyako did already accoustic stuff with only piano and Asamis voice, but put also at least Midori into that on the spaish guitar, that would be great.
