Destiny Lore - Rise of Iron: The mystery of Efrideet. Where is the 9th Iron Lord?

Recently Rise of Iron's new Iron Lord artifacts were revealed. But Efrideet, the 9th Iron Lord was mysteriously absent from them and may not be dead! She looks as though she may be a major part of the Rise of Iron Story and if that's the case she may provide us with a quest with potential exotic and legendary rewards.

The fact that Bungie made sure to mention that all the iron lords are either dead or missing but Efrideet may have survived tells us she will show up in the story at some point. One theory I really liked is that shes the exo stranger.

You what I think would be cool? A mission sorta like in COD where someone is off a ways providing sniper support while you sneak around. The twist? We have no idea about the support in the first place. Imagine a campaign mission in Rise of Iron, where you're going through, get into so bad crap and suddenly like four enemies just die. You never shot at them, grenaded them supered on them nothing. All you heard is a low distant bang, and suddenly all of them just drop. Go to cutscene at the end of the mission (after loot tables and progression) and we're shown somewhere up on high, camouflaged perfectly, the lone Hunter Efrideet, smirking at us as we return to orbit to take on the mission that follows. You never knew she was there but she was, and she kept your ass alive.

There was one mission where if you scan a wall, behind a little trap door you're supposed to go down with a big drop (after fighting a siva fallen tank underground), it says that the symbol must have been put there by another iron lord.

Imagine watching a short movie of the iron lords patrolling the outer rim of the wall, looking around for siva. Then after a while their wolves (or Efrideet their sniper) spots something approaching, they then have to do an all out fight against siva and we get to see what happened to Efrideet and how Saladin survived and after the battle you see Saladin approach back to the iron temple with their bodies and make graves for them. Bungie make this a thing, just to give us more about what happened in the fight. MAKE IT A THING.

Byf I couldn't help but notice that you used a vanguard booster on the nightfall. If you didn't know, nightfalls will always give 682 rep as long as you have a class item that boosts vanguard rep on. For some reason boosters just don't affect nightfalls

Welp, I have a friend who says he knows a lot about RoI, I believe him because everything he said about TTK was true (he went in depth about the story before it was even shown the first time) he says you will earn two more artifacts, one efrideet, and when you complete every RoI quest in the questbook, Saladin

I have actually been working on this for a while in my head and Very much think that Efrideet is going to end up being the Stranger. Considering we don't know how the Exo's get their brainwave patterns and we already have some idea the Stranger jumps through time like the vex it is very possible and honestly would explain she took and interest in her and doesn't refer to herself as of the light. Combine this with the fact that much has been said about Destiny 2 being the new focus and this being probably the biggest hole still left in the story line i would not put it past bungie to create this and destiny 2 being a time jump to the future that the traveler is radioing in the original vanilla mission (little light)

I had a thought Byf: Going with the possibility that there will be a 9th Iron Lord Artifact. Can it be that it may not be Efrideet's artifact but Saladin's? Yes he is alive now, but what if he dies during the missions or raid, perhaps saving Efrideet who may be alive. I guess in time we will see who the 9th artifact will be name after: Efrideet or Saladin

If anyone is wondering Haakon, Weyloran, Nirwen, Bretomart, Finnala, Colovance, Deidris, Ashraven and Tormod are Iron Wolves, not Iron Lords. Difference is, well not really any, they too guarded the last safe city with the Iron Lords. So basically they were friends.And no they were not real wolves, that's just what they are called.

YOOOO HEAR ME OUT: Efrideet's Hope. With 4 rounds in the mag and similar to a hybrid of an ldr and blackspindle archetype. Exotic perk: Last Chance: the final bullet in the magazine deals double precision damage and if it is the the final blow gives a 33% chance to refill the magazine with 3/4 of it. And if the fnal shot is a body it gives bonus agility of 4 seconds to be able to run away, however taking 25% of damage away

Good video Byf something I thought of going into Spinfoil, but the Efrideet cloak flavour text souinds alot like something from the Osiris gear,could she have followed his teachings but couldn't leave with him and when they found SIVA she set out to find him? also SPOILER ALERT...... You said we dont know if the Queen is dead, yet in the sounds of Destiny ViDoc live stream one of the writers says "If we could start at a different spot and get to that eventually and this is totally spoilling Destiny 2020 or something but when we get to that world down the road where that original pirate Queen comes out I think its going to be a really powerful moment." Here's my throwaway theory: Efrideet, as the sniper of the Iron Lords, was too far away to be able to help her comrades contain SIVA, and she had to watch on as her friends died. Traumatised, she fled from the event and later learned that Saladin survived to be the sole recipient of the Iron Lords' Glory. She assumes that Saladin only survived because he abandoned the other Iron Lords (which may well be true and also the reason that a theme of this dlc is redemption), and in her anger she takes control of SIVA herself, and manipulates the House of Devils into being the army that she will use to destroy Saladin. Our mission in Rise of Iron will be to save Efrideet from herself, and to help Saladin atone for his own actions (or inaction)

The Queen isn't dead. Her whole narration of the prologue for TTK was spoken in the past tense. Listen to it again and you will notice that she is retelling the events of the reefs confrontation against Oryx in which she supposedly dies. She couldn't be retelling the events of the battle if she was dead.

Watch her be The Stranger and the reason she tells you she's not forged in light is because her body was found without her Ghost, and got ... revived as an Exo. This is not going to happen, but if it in some way does, told you!

This probably sounds super mean, but I would actually really like it if Saladin did have to sacrifice himself for her. Then she becomes the new Iron Banner vendor. I love Saladin and all but I would find it so cool because it would have lasting effects on Destiny. But that's just my opinion. Love the videos!

If SIVA is being controlled by one of the iron lords I´d guess its not Efrideet but the one with the Necromancy type powers and Efrideet went into exile, a little like Saladin has...

I've got a VERY far out there theory: she's the mysterious exo: she went away because she found a way how to travel through time and see where the Iron Banner would be but found only darkness and followed us to see if we were worthy of being an iron lord

In the mission 'Siege of the Warmind', when you scan one of the monitors inside the facility, the ghost says someone could have woken up Rasputin purposely...and the same pair of eyes were used to get access inside. Maybe this was Efrideet handiwork all along? I wonder.

i'm still of the mind that "efrideet" is actually our guardian before they died. they might have been trying to get back to the city or find a jumpship then they and their ghost were destroyed. fast forward a couple (100?) years, a new ghost revives you, you're memory is lost and maybe in the new dlc saladin helps us recover it. no proof for this but it's a nice thought.

On the subject of deaths, what about Tevis and Prince Uldren? If Saladin dies, then Mara Sov, Tevis, Prince Uldren and Lord Saladin will be the first four main-ish characters to die since your Ghost found you. Now, that is IF Mara Sov and the Prince are truly dead.
