Unfortunately it happens more often than people think. There is NOT safety in marriage for many women. That is one of the reasons I hate how the church (and other places) push marriage as the be all end all pinnacle we should all want to reach!!

Destiny is still very much in trauma healing. The way she is sitting is a coping skill to protect herself. That is a soothing technique to keep a person calm and regulated. Even her rubbing her arm at times shows that she is still going through her healing. I appreciate her showing up as the best version of herself and telling her story and showing us that all things can be healed.

I agree with you re: the body language, trauma, pain etc., but it's likely that people who have been traumatized & neglected in many ways like Destiny has, cannot and do not have appropriate relationship boundaries, move in and through their shadow-side, due to instinctual need to survive and effort to self-preserve... inadvertently developed inappropriate, clever, manipulative, predatory survival skills. In essence, once victims have now become victimizer & the abuser. Destiny has lived most of her life in survival, PTSD mode. Many don't have the education & training and level of compassion required to facilitate a friendship with a person like Destiny because #1 she's not a child, she's a grown woman whose quite aware and conscious of her manipulative maneuvers, thus capable of understanding consequences. Destiny won't stop lying and manipulatiing until she receives the deep therapy required to surrogate and facilitate healing. The thuggery "personification" designed to protect her isn't working for her, neither will the victim personification (lies). *Only the truth sets us free* Come again Sister,

Married to someone that now seeks pleasure in your pain speaks volumes… This is something everyone should ponder when dealing with people known to seemingly seek pleasure in the pain of others they were in relationship/married to. Empathy is something that we all need to show others especially when we need compassion too.
@Mr.Oct___

This comment sounds foolish. This is a literal everyday occurrence in relationships. Particularly on the part of women. Where do u think the phrase "hell hath no fury...." came from. Women routinely utilize all kinds of mechanisms to "punish"/bring bout pain to their former mates. Utilize children, parents, who.ever to carry out their ends. What.makes thissl particular one-sided account unique?

No judgement here at all, I promise. But we have to be so careful to not to ignore when God lets us know, don’t link up with that person. When we attach ourselves to people that didn’t have no business in the first place being in our lives, we write a chapter or chapters that wasn’t supposed to be in our life story. I hate sis had to go through that. It was all for her making. God doesn’t waste anything. But even in that, if It wasn’t in my original plan from God, I don’t wanna add anything or anyone to it! Not in 2024! If God don’t endorse them, do what the first 3 letters in “endorse” says…..END it!

I agree something was off with him, can't put my finger on it, I thought he was illiterate only to find out how educated he was. But I don't think for 1 second Destiny was as innocent as she demands people think of her in this interview. I see right through the verbal, rehearsed camouflage. Not being truly transparent will have ppl side-eyeing you everytime. Many women who are victims of abuse will come to her side and that's what she's hoping for. I don't consider being trumped financially and proper use of the law abuse. I think Laberrick used his resources be it finances or proper use of judicial system (which he had every right to do) to fortify and aid his court battles, and because she was broke busted and disgusted and possibly incompetant of law, does. NOT automatically infer he was evil and guilty of wrong doing because he used the truth and could afford an attorneys professional services. It looks like it's Destiny's "fork in the road" pay the piper moment. She simply hasn't done and refuses to do the internal work required to self reflect, own HER mistakes in friendship & marriage to gain victory & overcome her fiery trials of self introspection. NO MATTER the source of her fears i.e. abandonment, abuse, neglect; these have no respect of persons...these atrocities happen to the best and worse of us. The only way out for the best/worse is healing, therapy, blaming no one. Some breakthroughs require healing - healing requires the TRUTH and the truth is victims cannot be victorious if they remain victims!

We are hard-pressed in every way but not cramped beyond movement; we are perplexed, but not absolutely with no way out. Our Heavenly Father has definitely been with Destiny. He has his hand on her. This is the comment that I was looking for!!! I never understood how she as a woman can align herself with a man like him, knowing that he did a lot of the things, if not worst, to his ex-wife that her husband did to her. Alignment is everything, Destiny should be careful about who she is connected to in this season. She's been through enough already, but moving forward, she should disconnect herself from men like him.

There are two sides in marriage. Perhaps her ex should be invited on to tell his truth. I only know of her from Love and Marriage Huntsville. She was not very nice. Fighting and arguing with everyone except Martell. She did not represent herself the way she did on your podcast. People probably would have treated her better if this is a true representation of who she really is.

I have been watching this channel for about 6mths. This is the first time I am commenting. I have gone through a similar journey. My ex Fiance is in jail for kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery, family violence, and 2 other misdemeanors. My life has been turned upside down since this. I came home from the hospital and found you on KZbin and have been watching your channel ever since then. Since doing some work on myself I thought when a man from my past came to me that I was ready for a good man but then had a falling out with him because there were some things I didn’t like about him. During Destiny talking about her therapy she said something that made me realize that the reason I didn’t like those thing about the “good man” is that those 2 things reminded me so much of my child abuser. See I was assaulted and touched on the regular as a child and this man smelled like him and his body type was the same. Not until this episode had I even thought about it. Thank you for bringing her on and thank you for everything you do to help people heal from their pain and give people like myself faith that God has the right man out there for me. Just be patient and live life. God will bring him to me when it’s time. I feel that in my soul. But even if it never happens I will be okay as well. Thank you and God bless!

Destiny has given other interviews where she explained certain situations differently, which makes it hard to believe what she’s saying... there’s so many holes. I’m on the outside looking in and have no right to judge but it does seem as if this interview was strategically chosen. I empathize with her up bringing, no relationship with her mother, the loss of her brother, experiencing a failed marriage, etc. In order for her to genuinely heal and be truly happy she must also take accountability and be honest with herself. GOD is aware and knows all! Her and her son are in my prayers.
