The interrogator brilliantly (and shamelessly) leverages sexual dynamics. She probably deals with macho male cops all the time and clearly knows how to manipulate them. Most of the questions sound like she's chatting him up in a bar, and she maintains the sweet, ditzy "Oh I'm just such a clutz with technology, could you help me figure out which SHA variant and RNG you used to hash your password?" demeanor, which encourages him to remain in the "confident male" zone. As former law enforcement, we already know (maybe not all the details) what you're guilty/ suspected of. All of the interrogation techniques are pretty simple with practice. The problem for most suspects (even those who should know better) is that they think they are smart enough to get away with it. They think they can talk their way out if it. The smartest thing to do is say nothing and get an attorney.... whether you know nothing or are actually guilty. The lawyer will always know what to say and what law enforcement is allowed to ask... Sometimes suspects will give up crucial info not knowing that it's important.

Under the jail.. not 12 yrs bro. I've always held that cops should be treated greater in many ways. We should respect them more, they should be trained more and receive the same or MORE funding. However, they should be held to a greater standard to go with it. Our cops should be held to many times the punishment as a regular civilian. If a civilian would get 10 yrs then a cop gets 70. When it comes to cops sexually abusing, especially sexually abusing minors, its an extreme display of a power dynamic and like Destiny pointed out this is an act that surrounds the victim and completely removes their ability to escape or make free choices. You cannot afford to assume that a cop is willing to sexually abuse minors w/o everyone of his coworkers knowing about his tendencies, the cop couldn't be so crazy as to openly seek to abuse minors unless he doesn't fear reprisal and that must mean the whole system is against you. He took advantage of an extreme power dynamic and I think 12 years is too light and that this country needs to change our understanding of how we police our citizens and more importantly how we police our police.
@GrimlyYours

This isn't a bad idea, tbh, in a better world, but my only nitpick is that most police departments receive a _ton_ of funding. Much, much more than what schools do. It's how they allocate that funding that's the bigger problem.

I understand why you think that, but actually being a critical thinker really exercises that muscle of don't jump to conclusions even when it seems likely. Other times I'd say its really hard but when you're wanting to do law correctly you know to assume innocent til you've proven it in court.

@@madgodloki I haven't watched the full video yet but my assumption would be that you have mistaken their comment. What I think they are referencing is the fatigue of the women playing stupid to the guy and feigning innocence to him. Not assuming innocence in her own mind. In 95% of KZbin videos where detectives are doing an interrogation and get a confession, the detectives already know they're the suspect.

@@adamanderson3042 well obviously they're aware he's a _suspect_ they have a court order to take his phones and stuff. What I was meaning because I'm pretty sure they meant it this way is that the detective assumes innocence because that's literally how the law works and even if you're almost certain a person's likely guilty you still use due diligence to prove yourself wrong before you accidentally lock up an innocent person.

35:00 they'll tell you you can leave and don't have to answer anything, but as soon as you decide that they'll take you to jail and charge you based on what they have already. People's thoughts are that they can talk theirselves out of the charges. It's better to fight it in court, especially if you have money for bail, but it's also true that if you convince the detectives that you are not the guy then you won't have to deal with paying a lawyer in the first place. Not relevant in this case, but in a lot of cases they'll bring you in for an interview and you'll have no idea you're facing charges until they start putting the pressure on.

You can remove remote control from your of which needs to be done completely such as removed from your registery etc. Not just the “turn off button.” And there’s still software you can use to detect if you have another user on your pc. So why don’t cell phones have this where there’s no remote control, which I feel there is definitely remote control built in, and apps where it can detect multiple users on your phone. I got a few apps that can give you a idea if someone is connected to your device but idk how much I trust them.
