Kelly came in clutch! She did a great job although she short-changed herself by riffing downward instead of holding the ends of the phrases. The beginning of "sorrow" was amazing, and showed she had the ability to expand and sustain it and the others. We get a glimpse of what Kelly can really do when she's free. This also proves Kelly is a Soprano and not a Mezzo, because there was zero tension (and even some air) in the C6; she could have held it even longer if she wanted. While Beyoncé can obviously do it, every time she does (even in Flawless) she can only hold it for so long bc she's a Mezzo, yet she hides it well. It doesn't mean one is better than the other, it's just technical observation.

Well, Kelly and Bey are both mezzo sopranos. They both use their head voice to hit the note, however, Kelly's lighter tone gives a more airy, angelic feel (kind of like what you'd expect from a soprano tbh) versus Beyoncé's voice. But Kelly isn't comfortable singing as high as a soprano would on the regular (like Michelle). That said, I agree with wanting Kelly to hold the C6 out just a tad bit longer, and maybe put some vibrato on it at the end too. I did like her runs following it though

Kelly is a mezzo with a very well developed head voice. Beyoncé is a mezzo too but her tessitura has always been lower than Kelly's (that's why Kelly usually took the higher harmonies). Both of them are clearly mezzos. Michelle, on the other hand, is a soprano.
