This was mistaken for a TWOTW outtake when it leaked back in '09. One of Bey's fansites had posted and said it sounded like DC4 and now I'm seeing that wasn't the case (just like Jumpin' Jumpin'). It sounded like she was genuinely beginning to cry at the end of the song. Do you think this was probably for her alleged 2000 debut?

yes i totally remember! even now, people think it's still an unreleased TWOTW track, and aren't aware that it's actually called "i've tried", not "life like this"! and i definitely believe this song was intended for her solo project (of 2000/2001) among a host of others, several of which ended up being placed (or 'recycled') on SURVIVOR, such as "brown eyes", "dangerously in love", etc. also, thank you so much for the consistent love

@@parisianvisions The song was actually mentioned in a September 2000 article for Entertainment Weekly on the girls alongside Nasty Girl when the album was still titled "Independent Women".

Why did people ascribe the writing and production of this track to Rodney Jerkins?
@parisianvisions6 ай бұрын
we all know how internet rumors are spread and things can be assumed or misconstrued, here is just another example. looking back, i have no idea why people would attribute the song to rodney jerkins, since it's not reminiscent of his edgy production style.

@@parisianvisions Beyonce wrote this song lyrically right? As well as essentially everything on survivor?
@parisianvisions6 ай бұрын
@@msflystuff282 as stated in the description, she co-wrote and co-produced this with bryan-michael cox. and with the rest of survivor, although she wrote a significant part of the album, she has never been the sole writer, always a co-writer

@@parisianvisionsThank you for your responses! I did learn however she wrote most of the lyrics on Survivor album. Dan Workman (old DC engineer) spoke about it! Producers get writing credit often because creating the beat is a form of composing.
