For historical purposes, there was a time where r/place did a live pixel art for a limited time where many streamers were able to add artwork. Since it was only editable for a limited time, Destiny and other streamers would destroy each others art for content. Hasan got his dog art destroyed and he was not very happy about it. It's not about the pixels, but the memories behind and what it evokes, of course I don't know how it felt for him but it'd be extremelly callous and emotionally immature to not have at least a bit of empathy and try to understand why'd he would be upset.

i think this is an interesting microcosm of the wider "community" and cancel culture. people are just unbelievably happy affecting any kind of change in the world, even on something as small as r/place. the dopamine hit from watching dgg wreck people's art is just insane. the kind of attack on twitter when people smell blood in the water is probably a similar psychological phenomenon.
