Something Strange Was Found In Outer Space - Best Videos Of 2020
► Subscribe: goo.gl/r5jd1F
Mankind has always been intrigued by the mysteries of deep space. Since the discovery of the telescope, astronomers have made huge steps into understanding the origin of the known cosmos, however, even after so many years, we are finding things in deep space that no one has seen before.
On June 26th 2020 something mysterious occurred when four strange objects were identified by the radio telescope Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder. These seem unlike any other astronomical objects ever seen before and ignited a spark of interest in the astronomical and space community.

Finally! An up to date astrophysics video! I love this kind of stuff but everything on the internet seems like its 10 years old or more, or its a re-hash of discoveries made over 40 years ago. Why did they stop making good astrophysics vids after 2010? More like this, please.
@Republican_Extremest
@Republican_Extremest 2 жыл бұрын
We are aware that 98% of all of this is theory. I mean to be so bold to say that we can scan a planet 1,300.000.000 astronomical lightyears away is absurd if they can really do that shit then why cant I get wifi 50 feet from the hub?
@YogiMcCaw
@YogiMcCaw 2 жыл бұрын
@@Republican_Extremest Haha. I get the frustration. Dunno what's wrong with your router/cablemodem or who your provider is (if it's comcast, it's complicated no matter what the issue is!) Hope you can get it fixed! But your wifi co has nothing to do with these astrophysics vids. They aren't scanning the planets, they are analyzing the spectrum from the light they get back from said planets. This leads them to speculate what elements might be in the planets atmosphere or on the surface. It's best-guesstimate stuff for sure, but if the spectrum is accurate, they can pretty much guess with high accuracy what elements are present, and therefore the likelihood of whether it's a rocky or a gas planet. The amount of light it blocks when it transits its local star is what they use to to make a size estimate. Although they are pretty accurate with this stuff, it is still, in the final analysis, just educated guesses.
@lilmike2710
@lilmike2710 Жыл бұрын
There's not much in the way of new discoveries that can be documented. Although I have been seeing a lot of more recent documentaries being uploaded here lately that tend to take a few liberties. Unfortunately they could easily be considered misinformation due to the speculation and conjecture that the narrators tend to state as if it were established facts. Even more unfortunate is how some astrophysicists and scientists alike have hitherto been stating things as if they're well established facts when in reality are only conjecture. Science is not conjecture, nor is it based upon popular consensus. . The blanks cannot be simply penciled in based on presumptions. No matter how much it might make sense. For instance, watching these videos would have the viewers believing that H2O water ice has been discovered on Mars (or anywhere else in the solar system). When it has not, in fact. They *think* they've found it. It's plausible that they have. But if you pay attention to the wording, you'll notice some ambiguity. Phrases like "Believed to be... indicative of.... indicating... has the composition of (water ice). What's reluctantly admitted is the fact that what they've"discovered" could just as easily be CO2 ice or dry ice.

Outside of the short vids on science news sites, I haven't seen anything from 2020 yet. @@amazingdude9042 I kinda feel you're the idiot here..Mankind, or at least a dedicated fraction of it, has been searching for habitable planets for quite some time now, and we actually have a few likely candidates. The only solution for the continuation of our species as of now, is to leave this planet, as it will eventually perish. This is of course really only viable if mankind more or less acts as one, and stops wasting time continuing with our current infrastructure, based on power, politics and wealth. It can always be too late but we should at least make an effort. Anyone that 'sees' the solution, is therefore anything but an idiot. You, just assuming we don't have the tech, and therefore discrediting the idea, are not looking good in comparison. Then again, you can't even spell a sentence right, so you are at least no 'amazing dude'...

Okay when the sun turns into a dwarf star Earth won't just be revolving around it still without a scratch. It would literally end all life on Earth most likely even destroy earth. Because when the Sun dies the outer layer lair will expand engulfing the closest planets including earth. This would destroy Earth it would not just remain revolving around the dwarf left over. My theory is that when a black hole takes in enough matter and energy, it starts to give off that matter and energy as a quasar, kind of like a pipe full of water that springs a leak. And a pulsar is like a collapsing star that's like a filled balloon that springs a leak and starts spinning as it releases its air/energy.

Question - how can we get such great photos from something so far away? I read the other day that it wouldn't take thousands of years to travel at the speed of light to get like 1 billionth of the way here
@mosescolin9393
@mosescolin9393 4 жыл бұрын
these are all animated the actual pictures or images that they get arent even really images im pretty sure the stuff thats really far away just comes to us in radio waves or something like that and we generate pictures from that

Telescopes like Hubble take 100's of images each observing specific light wavelengths - Ultra-Violet > near Infra-Red; then it's all added together. With Infra-red imaging, we're able to observe very distant/old objects. The current record is the galaxy GN-z11, detected at the limits of Hubbles I-R camera, is 13.4 billion light years away ((Hold still while I take a photo :D ))

It's a real shame the James Webb space telescope has been delayed yet again and will not be launched sooner than Oct 31st this year (2021). It will be so good to see it up and running when it is launched. Great video thanks.
