I know it's perfectly retro and it looks exactly how I remember Dune 2 a C&C to be. But at the same time. Oof these battles look rough. 2:31:48 is just two blobs of units smashing into each other.

Yeah, tank gameplay was pretty much done and solved in company of heroes games. At least I don't remember it looking like blobs bumping into each other. I don't play company of heroes tho, a fun game is more important than getting the unit behavior right. But yes, I still want general pathfinding improvements to be present in every single rts game, so it feels good to play, even the old ones that would supposedly become inbalanced and anger the fans. I'm just a playability extremist, I guess. But the game doesn't seem to have much of the clumping issues present in older games. Like around hills or tight passages.

Keep in mind players are only finally getting ahold of a complete unit roster. It will take time for people to figure out how to properly handle micro, unit comps, ect.
