You actually could remove the two soldiers. When you're not in battle, if you open your inventory, you can drag any unit you no longer want into the trash can

Super happy to see you playing this, I've been addicted for a while and been in touch with the devs. You can remove the soldiers (or any card from your deck) between fights on the "world map". Select the inventory in the bottom right and trash it. I think you get a bit of gold from it as well.

I managed to get to round 87. Was doing, on average, about 500mil a round. The highest hit was 1.01bil. Would have beaten it, but I had a very low roll, so the damage to shield artefact didn't give me enough to survive the return shot. I was using the bear and wolf build with a lot of ninja flags.
